Second Floor Common Room, Saturday Night
It's a very quiet Saturday night in the dorms, and with half the students off on some spring break trip or other Anders figures that now's as good a time as any to hijack commandeer use his own floor's common room for a second attempt at cupcake-baking.
He's got his mixer and all his baking gear, plus the fire extinguisher Sam Carter gave him for Christmas, and is currently standing on his head in the middle of the kitchen area, an upside-down box of cupcake mix in front of him so he can read the directions. The TV is on in the background, tuned to the Stanford-Arizona NCAA women's basketball game.

"It's so quiet in here. And is it just me, or is there a weird sorta vibe around this place tonight, dude?"
no subject
"Yeah, normally there's lots of people in here. It's like they all just... disappeared."

"You know what we need, dude, seriously? A machine where we can just dump the cupcake ingredients up top, it mixes 'em and pours 'em into the tray for us, and all we have to do is pop 'em in the oven."

There's about a ladle and a half's worth of mix left when he finishes filling all the trays, so he sets the bowl down, puts his hands on his knees, and leans over to examine the cupcake tray closely. "Hmm."
Anders grabs the ladle again and starts going around the cupcake tray, putting one gooey drop-ful at a time into each of the cups until he goes through the last of the batter. "And we have filled cupcake cup things! You wanna do the honor of putting 'em in the oven?"

Lightball while baking -- surely not a good idea!
Re: Lightball while baking -- surely not a good idea!
So, it is even easier for her to decide to head down a few floors to see who else is around.
"Hey, guys. What are you playing?"

"Catch, dude!" he yells, ricocheting it off a chair arm at Bridge.

"Aw, frak!" Flipping the ball so it ricochets off a wall toward Molly, he takes off for the oven to rescue the cupcakes from certain fiery doom. Of course, they still have to cool before they can be iced, so he leaves them on top of the stove to do just that.
Yes, he remembered to turn off the oven.

And heads for the cupcakes.
Ooops.
Re: Lightball while baking -- surely not a good idea!
"Not the cupcakes. Not the cupcakes!" he yells, and hurdles the couch in a mad, desperate dash to save the cupcakes from Death By Lightball.
He knocks over two chairs in the process, but manages to get to the cupcakes just in time to catch the ball and bounce it off the refrigerator and back toward Bridge.
