Somebody has decorated the common room to the hilt for Nadia's birthday.

There are party hats and party favors enough for everybody. And a picata spread from Cafe Fina.

Broots skipped the 'make the sugar look pretty' step and went straight to the 'eat the sugar' step.

Angela followed Broots' lead. "This is kind of gross, if you do it right," she said, to justify herself as she poured pink "sand" down her throat. "I mean, all the playing with the candy ... I bet it gets all these germs on it."

Broots nodded and swallowed his mouthful of green 'sand'. "Exactly. Plus, this is faster. How you been?"

Angela thought over her last couple of days. England, ghosts, her mother, the trashed room ... she went with the safe bit.

"Not too bad," she said. "I went to London, which was fun, and then home for a couple days. What did you do with your break?"

"Oh, you were part of the London group? Cool. Um, I got sick right at the beginning of break, so I spent most of my time asleep or mopping over the fact that I'm no longer making fruit multiply." Broots thought for a moment and went for the blue "sand".

Angela blinked. "Was the fruit thing your weird power? Because that's bizarre. Did you make, like, enough to fill your room?"

She poured some blue sand into her palm and ate it slowly. "But it sucks that you were sick over break. Are you all better now?"

Broots nodded. "Yup. I made any seed I touched into a full fruit. Still have a ton of apples left. My roommate, Blair the bouncy, and I were playing around in the fourth floor common room. Um, they got run over by promegranates a bit." He bit his lip in an attempt to stifle a laugh. "Yeah, being sick was sucky. I was a bit too out of it to really notice though. And um, yeah, better now."
