Somebody has decorated the common room to the hilt for Nadia's birthday.

Nadia frowned. "Isn't he Veronica's boyfriend?" She made a face. "Well, I promised you I would, but I would have to be VERY sneaky about it. Veronica would kill me if she found out."

"Sneaky is good. Just don't hang around to watch this time," Bel advised. "He's a jackass and he deserves it," he added. "Not like it's any permanent harm. Unlike how he was threatening me and Phoebe."

Nadia sighed. "I'm learning that sticking around to watch isn't such a good idea, no." Nadia tilted her head. "Threatening you? Does Veronica know about this?"

Bel shrugged. "Not sure she'd care. Maybe about Phoebe, but not so much me."

"Did you send her the flowers?" Nadia shrugged. "I don't think she'll ever like you, but she would probably be upset if you were dead."

Bel nodded. "Yeah, I did. And I've been mostly keeping my distance from her."
