Second Floor Common Room - Saturday Morning

Veronica woke up early and decided to go to the common room to bake muffins. She carted Logan and a bag of groceries downstairs.

Logan was lounging on the couch, watching cartoons.



Veronica started baking.


[open for all bunny cuddling, mocking, etc purposes. please to not be modding the bunny without talking to me first (unless you're Angel). I will be on and off the computer today, so slow play may be necessary.]

"That doesn't make it easier," Veronica said with the air of one speaking from experience.

"No, it doesn't," Callisto snorted. "I mean, you'd think six, no, closer to seven now, years would at least dull it a little."

"There some things I think we never get over," Veronica said.

"Who's Xena?"

"Warlord back home," Callisto said. "Six years ago, her army came to Cirra, and when they left, Cirra was a burnt out husk and everybody was dead."

"Oh, I'm sorry," Veronica said lamely. It didn't seem like much, but she had no idea what else to say.

"You don't have to be sorry, it's not you're fault, it's Xena's," Callisto shrugged and sipped her coffee. "Which is why I'm going to kill her."

"Well, I guess that's one way to handle it," Veronica said.

"It's the only way to handle it," Callisto "Justice is rather thin on the ground back home."

"I get that," Veronica said. "Justice is pretty much a joke in my hometown, too."

"When justice is only for those powerful enough to take it, you can't really call it that, can you?"

"No, you can't," Veronica agreed.

"Of course six months ago, I'd have said there wasn't such a thing as justice," Callisto started snickering. "I blame Professor Tick."

Veronica gave her a half smile. "I personally like to believe in karma - what goes around, comes around," she said. "But it is kind of hard to stay cynical in the face of Professor Tick's enthusiasm."

"He's like a big blue bouncing ball of justice-loving peppy-ness."

"You must be really good at the metaphors we have to do in class."

"I get by, although I do wander into simile sometime."

"Most of mine end up as similes," Veronica admitted.

"In that case you just gotta take out the 'like's and, hey, instant metaphor."

"Good point," Veronica said. "I'll remember that next week."

"Speaking of next week, you and Angel managed to come up with a theory yet?"

"Yeah, we're going with the idea that justice is related to destiny," Veronica said. Callisto may be able to infer that Veronica isn't sure if she believes this theory. "How about you and Janet?"

"We're still working out the kinks, but we seem to be headed towards the idea that you can't find justice by looking to the gods, but rather the acts of your fellows."

"Oh, I think I like that," Veronica said.
