Gym, morning

After Maths, Cameron headed down to the gym. He really wasn't spending enough time in here as of late, he had some catching up to do.

"I guess," he's frowning at the bag now. "You think I should tell the principal?"

"If it will help, yes."

"I don't know, they didn't exactly show me their fleet." He grits his teeth and goes back to pummeling the bag as he's annoyed at himself for not thinking about this sooner.

"What did they show you?" she wonders.

The kick lands hard on the bag and he grimaces as he puts his foot down. "Nothing," it's out before he can think about it and he takes a deep breath. "Illusions."

Okay, there is actually a part of Aeryn that decides people that look like him need to stop seeing things that aren't there. "People?" she asks. "Things?"

"People," he doesn't look at her at all. HIs concentration is entirely on the bag and he's hitting harder. Faster. "The future."

"You're going to have to start speaking in longer sentences."

It takes a while before he finally does respond. "They showed some fucked up version of how things were going to be if I just lived my life without them playing god in it."

"So... 'if you don't do what we say, here's all the horrible things that are going to happen'," she says, and grumbles. "The next person I ever hear that complains about Peacekeeper propaganda is getting shot."

That gets his attention and he finally looks at her. "I'd prefer neither really."

She leans forward a little and asks, "Do you really believe what they showed you?"

It shouldn't really surprise him that she asks this, but somehow it does catch him off guard. "It felt real," he says softly. "It ended the same way too."

It takes her a moment. "The crash?"

"Yep, the one and the same ice time fun," he pulls a face and elbows the bag.

She nods. "You know the other me?" she says. "She crashed and died in a frozen lake. Funny, that. That doesn't mean it's going to happen to me."

He goes quiet at her remark and watches the bag swing back and forth because of his last hit. "I don't like winter."

"Then don't like it," she says, "but I don't know what that has to do with anything."

He tilts his head, frowning. "I don't like it. I don't like the cold. I don't like how when I wake up, I'm still freezing. It feels real, what they showed me feels real as much as anything here feels real. And the only fucking proof I have that this isn't some new illusion they're feeding me is that no one died last Friday."

"I'm really not trying to make light of this, but did those illusions include weetiny bunnies?" she asks.

"What?" He stares at her.

"There were tiny bunnies that attacked people with hugs," Aeryn tells him. "Do you really think these Ori are capable of coming up with something like that?"

Cameron opens his mouth to argue, but closes it again and blinks as he considers this. Then he laughs, because he has to. "No, I suppose not."

Cameron's still shaking his head because she just won using weetiny bunnies. "Thanks, I missed your logic."
