Wednesday Morning: Second Floor Common Room

Marty sits in front of his laptop trying to come up with his own personal theory of justice for ACJ.

The theory really shouldn't be much of a problem, it's trying to somehow work a pillow into the concept that's giving him grief.

Anyone who would like to distract him from this task would probably be welcome.

"I KNOW," Angela said. "She must be really into Jarod to go. She even sounded happy about it."

"I haven't been camping since I was in Girl Scouts, like, five years ago. What about you?"

Marty shrugged. "If you count the training I did in the army, then yeah. It wasn't very much fun though. I'm thinking that maybe I should find a tent sometime and go hunting for Bigfoot in the woods though. Want to join me? Could be fun."

"Army camping is probably really different from Girl Scout camping, unless they let you guys roast marshmallows and weave lanyards," Angela said. "And sure, trying it again would be fun. Want to go next weekend? I think prom is enough for this one."

"No marshmallows or lanyards," Marty said with a chuckle, "but we did have MRE's and packed parachutes."

"Next weekend should be fun. You'll have to show me how to weave a lanyard."

"Marshmallows are way better than MREs," Angela said. "But you probably didn't have to drink kool-aid and call it bug juice every night, and we didn't get parachutes."

"I'm not sure I remember how to actually make a lanyard? But we can try."

"Ah... Bug juice. Always sounds appetizing, doesn't it?" Marty said with a chuckle. "And just so we're clear on the subject: making a lanyard is not a euphenism, right?

Angela looked perplexed before she got it, then she cracked up.

When she recovered:

"Yes, I meant little-braided-strips of-plastic lanyards. Is that what you meant?"

"That's precisely what I meant," Marty said joining in on the laugh. "I just wanted to make sure some new slang term came up while I was out of town."

"If it did, I missed that one," Angela said. "Though now it's going to sound dirty to me forever. Thanks."

"Just doing my part to make Fandom a more fun place to be," Marty said closing his laptop. "I might as well give up trying to write something. I feel the need to spend some serious make-up time for leaving my girlfriend all alone for two weeks."

Angela grinned. "Make up time being a euphemism, right?"

"I was fine. But it is really good to have you back."

"It feels really good to be back," Marty said returning the grin. "And it doesn't have to be a euphenism, it can just be you, me and Min hanging out and watching your cat attack a kleenex box."

"Don't give her ideas," Angela said. "But yeah, we should hang out sometime before the whole prom thing. Want to do breakfast or dinner tomorrow?"

"Breakfast sounds good to me," Marty said with a small smile. "Any place in particular?"

"Stop by my room with some muffins and coffee?" Angela suggested. "I know Min has seriously missed you."

"Awww. Poor kitty. I'll have to bring her a cat toy to make it up to her," Marty said with a laugh. "And muffins and coffee sounds perfect. I have ACJ tomorrow morning though. You don't mind if it's early do you? Or do you have any classes for second period?"

Angela shook her head. "I'm free until seventh, except for the whole dress-shopping thing. Show up after ACJ? I always forget when your early classes are."

"Great. Me. You. Breakfast after ACJ. Sounds good to me!"
