Basement Pool: Thurday after classes: Pool Party!

Various inflatable pool toys are scattered in the pool and around it.

There's a radio playing any number of random CDs provided by Pippi. So unless somebody else wants to bring some music there's an eclectic mix of Flogging Molly, Butler Fetish, The Ramones, and sea shanties blaring.

There's also a table chock full of foodstuffs.

Swim. Eat. Play.

Leave your emo at the door.

Oh sure, she's had a breath; Walter, however, stayed underwater in the interest of advancing the butler agenda. Now there's that need to breathe alarm quietly ringing in the back of his mind, so it's a push for the surface for him.

Eep! Which means he grabs her hands and keeps heading for the surface, because breathing is good.

She backs off to let him surface, then, since she still has some air left, dives lower to swim under and up behind him.

No, no. No letting the sneaky ninja get the drop on the butler's back. Once the primary goan of breathe! is attained, he spins around to fend off more tickling.

Whoop! Caught! Change of plans! She pops back up out of the water, swinging her arm over the surface of the water to send a wave right at him.

Which Walter takes in the face, spluttering and laughing as he splashes back and ducks back under the water to tickle Nadia's ribs.

Nadia swam back a pace, trying to avoid the butler-fu fingers.

It wasn't really working. "Ack!"

Deep breath and then under she goes, going for another attack.

Which means that butler-fu fingers have to back off to avoid doing anything completely not within the code of butler-fu.

So maybe it's time for swimmy swimmy away.

Oooo, missed. Damn. She popped back up above the surface and treaded water, giggling softly.

Walter turned back to face her and snickered. And also rememmbered that he'd had a couple of brownies earlier. No wonder his inner monologue had been giggling so much.

Gotta love those brownies. Nadia grabbed hold of the edge of the pool and pushed herself up until she was sitting on it.

She was just a tiny bit out of breath, what with the swimming and the giggling.

Walter swam over to put his arms up on the edge and kick idly, still snickering. "So, to make this work, we're going to need to take the pills tomorrow night."

Nadia nodded. "That's right. Take the pills tomorrow night, and then if we need any adjustments on our outfits, we have all day Saturday to make them."

"Of course," Nadia straightened her legs and wiggled her toes. "Maybe I'll get a pedicure anyway. Because then when I'm a girl again, I can still have pretty toes."

"Yes. As a girl in a pretty dress, you'll require pretty nails, too, since you don't want to wear gloves."

Being a girl could be rather complicated, at times.

"Do you have stuff to take polish off afterward? I'm not wearing nail polish on Sunday." But he hadn't ruled it out.

"I've got some nail polish remover, don't worry. And if you get a french manicure, then it won't even necessarily look like you're wearing nail polish. That might be the best to go with your dress, too."

And once again, Walter was reminded of just wwhat he was choosing to do on Saturday. Was he completely out of his mind? Well, yes. He was.

"This is really going to be brilliant, Nadia." And any emo thoughts that wanted to intrude at that point were ruthlessly reminded that they were completely not invited to this party.

Nadia grinned. She had no idea if Walter meant what he said, but, well, it was good to hear. "I hope so. You realize, if I'm the boy, I'm going to have to lead when we dance?"

She could lead, she just really wasn't used to it.

"Did you tell Pippi that you learned how to Schottische? You'll have to do it with her." Dancing? In heels? How was he supposed to pull that off?

"Would you think it was weird if I asked to sleep over?" Walter scrunched his face at her. "It's just that you'll be dealing with the same thing." Was that weird? He'd slept there before, several times.

She still needed to get sheets for that thing.
