2nd Floor Common Room [Wednesday Evening]

Bridge is in the Common Room, notebook on his lap as he studies for finals.

Of course, he'd probably be better able to focus on studying if the TV wasn't on. But there it was.

"The Force is everywhere," Anakin said, obviously reciting something he'd been told a thousand times. "It's infinitely large as well as infinitely tiny."

He waved his hand and the cupcake wrapper lifted from his lap and began to spin around. "The same gift that lets me manipulate the molecules of this wrapper lets me, well, manipulate the molecules in Rory's car's engine." He shrugged and let the wrapper drop back down. "It's just part of who I am. It's kind of hard to explain."

"Actually, that sounds a lot like the arguments that conservationists on this planet use for protecting our natural environment and animals from development by industrialists," she mused, "You're just the only one I know who can manipulate molecules and atoms by concentrating on them. Have you ever been anywhere where there was no Force to manipulate? Didn't you worry about that before coming here?"

"They're right--everything's connected." He paused, thinking about her question. "I've heard of certain creatures that could repel the Force but I've never encountered them." He gave a small shiver. "From what the Archives say, it would be like going deaf and blind. I can't imagine."

He looked at her. "You know? It never even crossed my mind that the Force might not work here."

Sam nodded, "It must be like us and gravity--it's such a large and encompassing part of your life that it doesn't occur to you that there may be places that don't have it."

Anakin nodded. "A little bit like that. More all-encompassing, though."

He looked a little frustrated. "Obi-Wan is better at these kinds of explanations."

"Don't worry about it, Anakin. I think I understand enough for my purposes," she shrugged, and flipped some hair out of her eyes, "I mean, it's not like I'll ever have a practical use for the information."

"True," Anakin said.

He stretched his arms over his head and glanced at his chrono. "I should probably get back to studying now, though."

"What, and leave all this?" Sam grinned at him. "Sure, I'll see you later. Don't overwork yourself."

Anakin grinned back. "I don't overwork," he claimed. "I'm just...focused."

Obi-Wan would have disagreed rather vehemently.

Sam snickered. "Last time I 'focused' I didn't come out of my room for a week and a half."

"And this is...bad?" Anakin asked, confused.

Anakin looked deeply unconvinced. "Huh. Well, back to writing papers and studying anyway."
