Friday early evening, The Roof, Dance Party, Pippi's Birthday, StuCo we survived! Party

Walter and Nadia had done their shopping at All and Sundries and Walter has theme decorations and treats for a pirate's birthday. StuCo has supplied Chinese food (on Cinco de Mayo) and there is pirate themed music because the Schottische is obligatory tonight.

Come, eat, drink, celebrate surviving a school year and the birthday of Fandom's favorite girl pirate.

"Well, I hope it, and this whole new year ahead of you will be everything you hope for," Lana said with a smile. "But, then, I'm sure it will. You bring such a positive attitude to everything, that it makes it easier, not just for you, but for everyone around you."

What she means is, "Gee Pippi, you're great at helping people take their mind off the fact that they could die any moment in this place.

Lana blushed, "Oh God... well, at least it was a wish that had a pretty huge chance of coming true."

Pippi looked back to Lana but was still thinking about the healing knife wounds exposed by Pip's swimsuit.

"Yeah..." She smiled at Lana, "It was nice anyway. You make a very sweet child."

"Aw... thanks, that's sweet of you to say. Even if one of the reasons I came to Fandom was to escape people who could only see me as that little girl," she teased.

Lana followed Pippi's gaze and was shocked. "What happened to him? Is he all right?"

"I can certainly identify with that!" said Pippi. "At least you weren't alone in being wee."

She looked back at Pip and then rolled her eys, waving her hand.

"Family business is what he called it." she explained, "He says he'll be fine. I'm sure he will be."

Hope he will be.

Lana looked over at him, feeling a bit of regret. She really hadn't been a very good friend to him - or well, to anyone really - since Shep had left. "I hope so," she said quietly. "Must be a pretty dangerous line of work his family is in."

"Yup."

For a moment, Lana thought Pippi was referring to what a bad friend she'd been and felt even worse than before. "I'm sorry," she started, before realizing that Pippi was most likely referring to Pip's "family business".

She blushed again and shook her head. "My brain. It's fried from the past couple of weeks of finals."

"It's all over for now!"

Lana raised her glass as well. "To finals being over," she said. "And to all of us surviving them."

"We are indeed. Well, happy birthday again," Lana said. "I'd better not monopolize you on your birthday." Impulsively she leaned in to hug Pippi. "I hope this year will be your best yet."
