Gym Open Early

According to the information packet the gym facilities were for everyone. Elle rolled out of bed, washed her face and put her hair into a ponytail and went down to get some quality time with the StairMaster before the crowd came in.

The gym did get crowded, right?

"It's not that hard to find your way around, really. Just make sure you don't go up to the sixth floor without a guide," she advised.

"Is the sixth floor dangerous?" he asks.

"Not that I know of?" Rory said, shrugging. "But there's a room where everything's huge - or possibly, we're tiny? And another one that opens out onto the sky."

"I'll be sure to ask someone experienced in sixth floor situations to accompany me," he says with a wink. "In case I get scared."

"You want to meet up with Bridge Carson," she said, nodding. "Or Hamlet Dane or Duo Maxwell. They're the ones who know what they're doing."

She blushed and bit her lip. "I've just been on some of the expeditions, is all."

"That still makes you experienced, doesn't it? More than myself, at least." Smiling again, he says, "There's a bridge here? A talking bridge?"

"A boy named Bridge," she clarified. "There are some oddly-named people here, myself included."

"I like your name," he says immediately. "My name? Now, that's odd. Cedric? It sounds like some sort of bird, doesn't it?"

"It reminds me of cedars," she said shyly. "You know - the trees? Rory's a dumb name, though it's better than what it's short for, so whatever."

"Perhaps we should switch names for a day?" Cedric suggests. "You be Cedric and I'll be Rory. Or, I could be Bridge who talks."

"Bridge talks a lot. I'm surprised you haven't met him yet," Rory said, smiling. "And don't you think that might confuse people?"

"Possibly," he admits. "But, it might be fun. Not that you look like a Cedric. Rory is a very fitting name, I think."

"You look a lot like a Cedric," she said, nodding. "And I look more like a Rory than my legal name, so there's that. But this is a boring topic oh em gee. How are you settling in?"

He laughs easily. "I'm settling in well, thank you. The bed was comfortable and there weren't any odd noises during the night."

"Were you expecting odd noises?" she asked with a small smirk.

"Where I came from, it's not uncommon," he tells her. "And it wasn't the sound of snoring either. I don't snore. I just thought you should know."

Right, Cedric, that's exactly what she needed to know. Idiot.

"Sometimes I do, according to, um, people. I'm more with the loud nightmares, though."

Okay, really, Rory. Why did you tell him that? Why?

"Um." She facepalmed. "What kind of noises did you hear at your old school?"

"Nightmares?" Cedric frowns. "I suppose we all have a few of those. As for the noises, the frequent roommate leaving their bed, laughing, talking, and some other random happenings."

"Oh, do you have a roommate here?" Rory asked curiously.

"Just one," he says. "Dean Winchester. He has a brother here, too."

"Sam!" Rory said with a grin. "Yeah, he looks like my ex - um, someone I used to know. Whose, um, name is Dean. It's very confusing. I'm pretty sure I boggled the poor guy yesterday."

"Dean apparently has a look alike as well," Cedric says. "We've decided he should be called Scooter instead of the boring number."
