2nd Floor Common Room, Thursday Morning

Janet found herself inexcplicably unable to sleep in, and so was watching a Z-Files marathon in the common room. Ooh. They were starting with first season. This was the episode with that kidney-eating mutant, Edward Brooms. What was the title again? Squish, maybe?

Blair stopped by on his way back from J,GoB and waved. "Hi Janet!"

"Hey, Blair!" Janet waved. "How's it going?"

"Great! I met some of the new people who live on my floor yesterday. They all seem really nice." Blair held out the bag he was carrying. "What some breakfast?"

"How's things going with you?"

D'anna shuffled out of 237 while still in her pjs and flopped down on one of the couches. "Morning, Janet," she said.

Or tried to say. She began to yawn when her mouth opened so it came out, "Mhooooooooornhnetfh."

"We got a ton of new people," said Janet. "I've only met a couple of them so far, but everyone's been great." She perked up. "Breakfast? Ooh, thanks."

"Pretty good so far. A little bored. You?"

"You know, I think I have some extra coffee in the pot in my room," said Janet, grinning. "Unless my roommates have stolen it all. Want some?"

Realising that he was without caffiene Zack ventured out with the intention of finding some, he passed by the common room and decided to check in there.

He still had his camera with him, just in case.

"Yes, please." D nodded enthusiastically as she curled up under one of the couch throws and ywaned again.

"I was bored until I realized that I have these new people to meet." Blair bounced. "I met a guy yesterday who moves around all the time AND he has a brother. How cool is that?"

"But I am sort of anxious for classes to start again."

After sparring in the gym and showering, Peter figured he ought to see if any of the other floors were different from his. He'd seen the fourth floor last night, so he ventured onto the 2nd. Peeking into the Common Room, he saw Janet on the couch. Walking in, he bowed to her in greeting. "Good morning, Janet. How does the day find you?"

"Hey!" Blair bounced over, with his bag from J,GoB. "Hi, I'm Blair. You're a new student, right? Danish?"

Janet had a cup of coffee and possible plans of just bringing a giant pot of it out from her room. And--hey, new kid. "Come and join the fun," said Janet, waving. "I'm Janet Fraiser."

"Pretty neat, actually," said Janet. "Does he have a parent in the armed forces? That was why we moved around all the time when I was younger."

"I miss school. Isn't that sad?"

"Zack," he said, blinking slightly at the bouncing. "Yeah, I'm new, and from Michigan, actually."

Getting up and going down the hall for coffee was easy enough. Janet came back with a large pot of it and extra cups, just in case anyone else showed up.

"So how are things going?" asked Janet. "Signed up for summer workshops yet?"

Janet held up the danish she'd been munching on. And wiped powdered sugar off her chin. "I think he meant to ask if you wanted one to eat," said Janet. She pointed at the table. "Also, there's coffee."

Blair stopped mid-bounce and grinned. "No, sorry. I meant, do you want a danish? Or a muffin?" He held out the bag to Zack.

"Michigan? I stayed in a commune there once. Where are you from?"

"Zack Addy," he said, taking a seat. "Hey, I remember this episode."

Janet grinned and waved. Maybe he'd get over bowing at people in a while? "Hey, Peter. I'm good. You?" She nodded over at the table, where there was a large pot of coffee and some cups. "Want some coffee? Or are you a determined tea drinker?"

"No, I think his dad does protesting or something like that. You were a military brat? Really?"

"That isn't sad at all. I love school!"

Blair watched the bowing with interest. "Hey man."

D'anna gratefully took a cup. "You are a goddess among women."

"Eh, could be worse." She took a sip of coffee. "I've been considering my options. Archery and Things to do at the Beach sound interesting. How about you?"

"I'm open to new experiences." He poured himself a cup and grimaced at the taste. "Err...is it supposed to wake you up by tasting horrific?"

"I wanted to thank you for yesterday. For taking me to see Su."

"It's a good one. Not that I think eating kidneys could really help a genetic mutant be able to squish his entire body," said Janet, frowning at the tv. "I mean, how would you get the bones to be that flexible only some of the time? But then again, it's fiction. It doesn't have to make sense, right?"

"Hi new kid." D'anna said from behind her mug, not really paying at attention to the person so much as his camera. "Fandom High survival rule number one? Buy a coffee maker."
