2nd Floor Common Room, Thursday Afternoon

Logan was in the kitchen. Cooking. Because when you were in a kitchen, working with a blender, you could call it cooking. Even if the result was more beverage-y than food-y. It was practically summer, anyway. Perfect time for a cold iced drink. With tequila.

The television was playing "Annie".

Buffy was exploring the other floors, poking her head into the common rooms and walking on. She paused on the 2nd floor, since the poster had said the 2nd floor was the best. "Hi?"

"Hi!" Logan waved at her. "Margarita?"

Buffy blinked. "Uh, sure? Is this a party or something?"

Logan gave her a deadly serious look. "This is the second floor common room," he said, and then he grinned at her.

"So that means party? This is the party floor?" She walked further into the room. "I'm Buffy, by the way."

"Totally the party floor. I'm Logan," he said. "Buffy - like Sunnydale Buffy?"

Buffy looked puzzled. "No, I'm from LA."

"Ah, cool!" Logan said, giving her a quick appreciative look. "I'm from SoCal, too. Neptune, actually."

"Ah, home of the rich and famous!" Buffy nodded, giving him a discrete lookover. "Which are you?"

"Yo," Cameron waved at the new student.

Buffy waved back. "Hi! I'm Buffy, I'm new, and I live on the uncool fifth floor."

"I'm Cam. I'm not new. I live on the totally awesome second floor," Cameron was going to like this girl. "Nice to meet you, Buffy. I think I met your sister yesterday."

Buffy's eyebrows went up. "Um, I think not? I don't have a sister."

"Oh," Cameron frowned as Buffy really wasn't such a common name. "My mistake then. You're not from Sunnydale?"

Buffy slowly shook her head. "Noooo..."

"Sorry," Cameron apologised. "I guess it's just a coincidence. Anyway, how are you settling in?"

"Pretty good," Buffy smiled and decided to ignore the weirdness. Apparently weirdness was normal here. At least according to Nadia. "I made pancakes for breakfast with lots of people."

When Cordy was looking around the common room, her glance passed over Buffy. She didn't think about it for a moment, but then it hit her.

"I officially hate this school," Cordy said, making her way over to Buffy.

"I should have figured you'd show up sooner or later. Hellmouth too boring for you?"

Buffy stared. "I'm sorry?"

Cordelia blinked.

"Uh, Buffy? That is you, right? Not some sort of crazy other-dimensional person who looks like Buffy?"

She took a sip of the margarita in her hand and raised an eyebrow. "It's me. Cordy. You can't have forgotten me, because I'm virtually unforgettable."

The staring continued. "I have never met you before in my life. Oh! Wait, are you Donna's sister?"

"Who the hell is Donna?" Cordy asked, getting annoyed.

"Cordelia Chase? That's me. You? Are Buffy Summers. The Slayer? Chosen One, all that crap?"

"Donna Carlyle, she was in my cheer sq--" And then her brain caught up. "What?! Yes! But no!" There was flailing. No one was supposed to know about the slayer thing!

"Where does the 'no' come in to it?" Cordy asked, raising an eyebrow. "Okay, I'm getting confused. You're the slayer. Last I heard, you'd quit the Watcher's Council but were still slaying."

"I...I... I... How do you know that? You're not supposed to know that!" More flailing. "No one is supposed to know that!"
