Logan was in the kitchen. Cooking. Because when you were in a kitchen, working with a blender, you could call it cooking. Even if the result was more beverage-y than food-y. It was practically summer, anyway. Perfect time for a cold iced drink. With tequila.

The television was playing "Annie".

There are newbies around and Jaye hasn't traumatized them nearly enough. Which is why she heads to the second floor. You know. Where the people should be.

"Jaye!" Logan greeted her. "Margarita?"

"It's still daylight," she says, and in the same breath, "Yes please."

"It's an iced beverage. Perfect for summer afternoons," Logan said.

"That is the best spin on it ever," she says. "I knew I liked you for a reason."

"I totally took notes on all the nicknames you gave the newbies," Veronica tells her by way of greeting.

"We have three Peters and two Xanders! And an Elle, Ellie and Elliot! It's nicknames or I just start numbering people," she says.

"And isn't there already a dude that's just a number, no name?" Veronica asks, thinking she remembers that from Archie's broadcast.

"Oh yeah," she says. "Yeah, he's now Joe in my head. So I guess numbers don't work either." She pauses. "Seriously, I will be back later with nametags.

"Nametags are a very good idea," Veronica nods. "I haven't talked to you in a while, you sticking around for the summer?"

"My parents are trying really hard to drag me back," she says. "But hahahahahahaha I think I'll hide under my bed until they get exhausted trying to talk me into it. Are you staying? Or is it off to the big post-graduation thing already?"

"I'm staying for the summer," Veronica tells her. "No reason to go back home. I'm going to run a workshop for the summer camp, but then it's off to college in the fall."

She pauses. "And, no, I don't know which college yet because I was waiting for canon and they didn't say so now I have to figure something out on my own. I'm still waiting for acceptance letters."

"Ack. Which workshop?"

"Photography," Veronica says. "It's been my hobby for a while."

"Might need to look into that one," Jaye says. "I usually only take pictures of the embarrassing stuff other people do, but those are the ones you really want to be good."

"Well, in my line of work, I've had a lot of experience taking those," Veronica tells her.

She pauses. "You didn't get say, any dumpster diving pics, right?"

"Uh, no," Veronica says. "I was a little too distracted to take pictures that day."

"Just checking. If I've had other really embarrassing stuff I've done, I was probably too trashed to remember it, so I had to be sure." She nods.

"Bel took pictures of me in a sailor suit at Caritas last week," Veronica shares. "And, no, I wasn't trashed."

"Yeah, I heard about the sailor suit," she says. "And yet you didn't kill anyone, I'm impressed."

Veronica shrugs. "It wasn't worth it. And, strangely, it was less embarrassing than ending up in my underwear Friday night at the radio station with Bel."

Jaye grins. "Oh, that was fun to hear," she admits.

"Yeah, well, you wouldn't think it was funny if you had been there," Veronica glares a little at Jaye. She leans closer and whispers, "He doesn't wear underwear!"
