The gym, Thursday night

Aeryn's making it a point to get to the gym more often, and she has to admit she's curious about who of the new people might show up. She wanders down, and puts on her gloves in order to wrongfully punish the punching bag.

[Open. Cuz I'm insane like that.]

After returning from Caritas, Peter heard noises coming from the gym. He'd already spent a good part of the day there, but he couldn't stop himself from investigating further. Poking his head in the door, he saw Sir Aeryn treating the heavy bag like it had done her great wrong.

He gave a slight bow back, "Did it say something about your sister?"

Peter stifled a grin. "It's an figure of speech - like you would hit the bag so hard because it had hurt a sibling - or your friend."

"If it did, I don't think you'd have a problem taking care of it. I'm sure you're not lacking for sparring partners, but if you ever want a human punching bag, I'd be happy to oblige."

He bowed to Aeryn again and exited the gym.

Miles peered into the gym, and stepped inside when he saw it was mostly empty. It wasn't exactly like he'd been hiding in his room. Not exactly.

But, although he couldn't punch or kick things, lifting weights was a good way to let his muscles support his brittle bones.

Miles grinned. Whoever she was, she reminded him of Elena, with her long dark hair and lean build. "Hello yourself. I'm new here."

"Hello, Aeryn," Miles caroled cheerfully. He looked around for a weight device, and strolled over to a free-weight machine. He calculated kilos to pounds, and loaded on a fairly light load.

Miles straddles the bench and looks up. "Oh. I forgot." He hopped off and bowed to her. "Miles Vorkosigan, at your service."

Miles leaned back against the framework of the weight bench. "Well, I hate to be obvious. Maybe I should curtsey?" He held an imaginary skirt fanned out widely and bobbed.

Miles waved his hand in the air. "Oh, I'm good at explaining. I can explain anything. Lots of practice."

[identity profile] mutie-vor.livejournal.com 2006-05-12 05:21 am (UTC)(link)
"Well, I could explain that I don't want to break eye contact. You have to admit, curtseying keeps your eyes level, so no one would be able to jump you from, er, the front, without you seeing them. I'm actually very good at explaining how THAT THING got THERE -- although that one is a result of much trial and error. If you ever need anything explained, dear lady, please do call on me."

Miles just grinned and went back to the weights.

[NP. I've got a job interview tomorrow so I don't know when I'm going to be back on. Hee!]
