Gym, early Saturday

It was very early on Saturday morning, so hopefully there wouldn't be anybody else around in the gym. She needed to work out some frustration, preferably without being recognized by more people she had never seen before in her life.

She pulled out the mats, laying them down at a decent distance from each other, then stepped onto on one and thought for a moment.

"No, the walking dead type," Aeryn tells her, and frowns. "No one told you about the zombies?"

Buffy shook her head slowly. "Nadia said something about snow monsters and fish monsters. I thought she was kidding. Seriously, zombies?" She frowned suspiciously. "Is this some kind of really weird newbie hazing thing?"

"Unfortunately, no. Zombies were in September, the snow monsters were in January, we went vampire hunting that next weekend... I missed a demon fight, and this is the first I've heard of fish monsters. Though we did have a giant squid living in the basement pool," she says, completely seriously. "It's all true."

Buffy scrutinized her face, hopefully searching for signs of newbie hazing. She found none. She sighed deeply, shoulders lowering, then growled, "Damnit, Merrick!" and spun around and kicked the punching bag with a solid thwak!

"Yeah, yeah, I just... Well, I had planned to be just a normal ordinary girl here, attending a normal, ordinary summer camp slash school with, like, cheerleading practises and stuff." Buffy pouted. And kicked the bag again.

"This may be the wrong place for 'normal,'" Aeryn admits. "I'm an alien. My..." Sigh, fine, "...boyfriend's roommate was a vampire, several people here are from different dimensions and timelines... That's normal here."
