Gym, early Saturday

It was very early on Saturday morning, so hopefully there wouldn't be anybody else around in the gym. She needed to work out some frustration, preferably without being recognized by more people she had never seen before in her life.

She pulled out the mats, laying them down at a decent distance from each other, then stepped onto on one and thought for a moment.

"It's greatly appreciated." Peter took a ready stance and threw a quick jab-cross-uppercut combination. "Better already."

"Not bad," she tells him.

"Thank you. From what I saw you doing to the bag the other night, I consider that high praise indeed," Peter replied with a grin.

"I'm not very good with compliments," she says seriously.

"I most certainly wasn't jesting," Peter said, his smile even bigger because she sounded so very serious.

"Good. I allow very few people to do that," Aeryn continues, completely deadpan.

Peter was concentrating so hard on containing his laughter that he missed his punch and his fist slid off the bag instead of connecting properly. Shaking his hand out, he looked at Aeryn, eyes wide with innocence, "I've heard jokes can be deadly."

"That all depends on who you tell them to."

"A zombie for instance? Or a very small rabbit?"

"I doubt they would really understand what you were saying. Unless the bunny was Logan, in which case I'm not sure how much he knew of what was happening around him."

"But if the zombie could understand, you might be in trouble. Even zombies might have vanity." Peter said with a straight face. "Logan is a talking bunny? I didn't know talking animals were in this land too."

"Logan didn't speak, I don't think. He just got turned into a bunny. Quite often," she says. "I think the only talking animal we have is Faithful. He's a cat."

"Whose good side do I need to stay on to avoid that particular fate?"
