Gym, early Saturday

It was very early on Saturday morning, so hopefully there wouldn't be anybody else around in the gym. She needed to work out some frustration, preferably without being recognized by more people she had never seen before in her life.

She pulled out the mats, laying them down at a decent distance from each other, then stepped onto on one and thought for a moment.

Aeryn smiles back. "So really, I'm doing you a favor."

"Yes, exactly." She picked up her speed a little. "Not that I don't like people, but they really interrupt my train of thought sometimes."

"Makes sense," she says.

And she's not exactly sure why, but she's feeling better. "So, you have any plans for the summer, or are you just sticking around here?"

She shakes her head. "I'll be here. I don't know what I'll be doing, but I'll be here. You?"

"I may be going somewhere," she shrugged, "but not for long. Liz and Janet want me to go look at colleges with them, but I'm not sure if I want to do that."

"Already?" asks Aeryn, who has no idea how these things work.

"Yeah. I'm still thinking Air Force, but they're trying to get me to open up my options." She paused. "It's a bit weird with them these days anyway."

"Weird?" she asks. "In general, or weird even for here?"

"In general." She paused, then explained, "They're...together."

"I am so glad I got my own room now."

"I don't blame you. They're both my friends, but, yeah." She punched some bunches on the treadmill and ran faster.

"Yeah," she agrees, drawing out the word and continuing to look confused.

"So, did you get a new roommate, or are you still alone?"
