2nd Floor Common Room - Sunday night

Her room was always big, but it seemed even larger and emptier now that Elizabeth was the only one in it.

So, with a blanket thrown around her shoulders and a box of chocolates in her hand, she headed to the common room and curled up in the corner of the sofa and started flicking through the channels.

Ooh, Insomnious on Lake Union. She loved this movie.

"You're in it? Maybe I will sign up for it then," Anders said around a mouthful of cupcake. "Mmph. Sorry."

He swallowed, then went on, "And maybe I'll actually talk to you in class this time around. Or . . . workshop. Whatever."

"And thank the Lords of Kobol for that little bit of pressure we don't have to deal with," Anders said, feelingly. "What other ones did you sign up for?"

"So far? I signed up for Admiral Harrington's workshop -- I think that's the leadership one -- and Piper's cooking and baking one."

He grinned wryly. "Carter's in that one with me. It should be interesting."

"A turkey?" Anders asked, incredulous. "That's kinda impressive."

"Yeah, talk about doing cooking catastrophes in style . . ." Anders laughed. "I can see why she gave me a spatula and a fire extinguisher for Christmas."

"Maybe I should get a utility belt made up for it, just for that class," Anders mused. "Well, and the spatula, and maybe my mixer."

He grinned. "I've been learning that one the hard way. I swear, I helped Angela and Parker make cupcakes that weekend when everybody was five, and they were better about being prepared than I am."

"Neither am I," he told her. "Sure made me rethink the idea of having kids, for one. It was kind of fun, but it's really hard to look at people the same way when I sit there and think, 'Wow, I remember the time you tried to climb my leg.'"

Anders grimaced. "Ouch. Carter and Gilmore totally broke my brain, too. Even as little kids."

"Probably," agreeed Anders, who hastily added, "No offense or anything. But I think my ego can only take so much of that."

"It's a compliment, really, I guess," he said. "To you guys, anyway."
