[3rd Floor CR, Monday Afternoon]

Alec was big on tv, not having watched much growing up. And he liked music videos (they were shiny and didn't need a big attention span to enjoy), so when he found that there was a whole channel devoted to them? He was in as close to heaven as he was likely to get with his clothes on.

So, sitting on the couch, barefoot and with a bowl of cereal, he was pretty much glued to the set. He could do without that crappy Macarena song or so much Spice Girls though. Whoa, retro.

[ooc: Open to anyone, yay]

"That's another possibility."

Peter gave into his curiosity. "Where are you from, Briar? And is it magic that makes your markings move?"

[identity profile] greenmagebriar.livejournal.com 2006-05-16 12:03 am (UTC)(link)
"Tattoos." Briar helpfully offered. "And yeah, magic. I'm from Emelan."

"Neat." Peter looked at Briar sharply, "is that south of Calormen?"

"A where?" Briar blinked. "It's uh, by *handwave* in *handwave continent*."

"My mistake then. The name sounds like a country from my land," Peter grinned in apology.

"I'm from Hajra originally, but somehow I doubt that sounds any more familiar to you."

[identity profile] once-a-king.livejournal.com 2006-05-16 12:41 am (UTC)(link)
"Not particularly. But I was going to be more surprised if you just happened to be from the same continent as me."

"Not a bad question, that. I think I'm too used to everyone being from somewhere strange. Either that or one of the rectangular states in the middle of this country."

[identity profile] once-a-king.livejournal.com 2006-05-16 02:00 am (UTC)(link)
Peter shook his head. "Sorry, in movies there's a tradition of the young hero coming to the big city from the country. And in America, the country is made up of states shaped like rectangles." He paused, "did that make any more sense?"

[identity profile] greenmagebriar.livejournal.com 2006-05-16 02:01 am (UTC)(link)
"Honestly? Nope. Mostly because I have no idea what a let's see, movie or America is."

[identity profile] once-a-king.livejournal.com 2006-05-16 02:09 am (UTC)(link)
"Ah, that explains it. A movie is what they show on the TV - which, given the amount they're on around here, I'm sure has been explained to you, right? America is the country that Fandom's in. It's made up of 48 states. The rectangular ones are countrified," Peter explained. "Slightly better?"

[identity profile] greenmagebriar.livejournal.com 2006-05-16 02:16 am (UTC)(link)
"As long as I don't think about it too much, yeah."

"I know what you mean. That's been my philosophy for this school."
