Alec was big on tv, not having watched much growing up. And he liked music videos (they were shiny and didn't need a big attention span to enjoy), so when he found that there was a whole channel devoted to them? He was in as close to heaven as he was likely to get with his clothes on.

So, sitting on the couch, barefoot and with a bowl of cereal, he was pretty much glued to the set. He could do without that crappy Macarena song or so much Spice Girls though. Whoa, retro.

Buffy waved, even if new person didn't really look like a potential basketball player nor cheerleader. "Hey!"

Zack waved back. Then remembered he should introduce himself. "I'm Zack Addy."

"Buffy Summers," Buffy smiled. "I'm new, and from LA. To get that over with."

Zack grinned back. "Also new, and from Michigan."

Zack shrugged. "Trees, cars, the Pistons."

"Sounds... interesting," Buffy said, lying like a lying thing.

"It's Michigan," Zack shrugged.

"So... Do you play basketball?" Buffy was, at heart, a very optimistic person.

Zack turned bright red and mumbled "Kinda of."

Buffy brightened. "Reeeeally?"

"Yeah," Zack said. "I'm not that good though."

"Ah, modesty. I like that in a guy." Buffy beamed. "What was your name again? Zack! Right. Zack, listen, would you like to join the basketball team that still doesn't exist? So I can have my cheerleaders?"

"Wait," Zack frowned. "You want me on a sports team? What's the catch?"

Buffy blinked. "There's no catch. Well. Maybe an itzy bitzy little one. The school doesn't have a sports team. No sports team, no cheerleaders. And there needs to be cheerleaders." She may have gotten quite a fantatic zeal at the end there.

"I might," Zack answered slowly. "Provided you can get the the rest of a team."

"Awesome! I already have a yes from John-who's-not-Cam and Xander Bly!" She beamed then hesitated. "Um, how many do you need for a basketball team?"

"Five, but you'd want at least twice that if you want us to play without trucking in a team from another school."

Buffy frowned. That could get tricky, but not awfully so. "I can do that. I'm sure I can. Maybe a guy team and a girl team?"

Zack started grinning, totally not thinking of girls in basketball outfits running around. "That could work."

"Yay! So if I get two more, you'll play on the guy team?" She gave him her cutest look complete with big, huge eyes. Just to make sure.
