Alec was big on tv, not having watched much growing up. And he liked music videos (they were shiny and didn't need a big attention span to enjoy), so when he found that there was a whole channel devoted to them? He was in as close to heaven as he was likely to get with his clothes on.

So, sitting on the couch, barefoot and with a bowl of cereal, he was pretty much glued to the set. He could do without that crappy Macarena song or so much Spice Girls though. Whoa, retro.

"Huh," says Max, thoughtfully. "You know, that guy Dean? He asked if I was an alien, but I just figured he was trying to be funny."

She shakes her head. "He seemed really pleased to find out I am one," she says.

She makes a noncommital sound as she studies Aeryn for a few moments. "So, aliens look like humans? I'm a little disappointed. Kind of shows a lack of creativity on the part of the universe, dontcha think?"

The disappointed comment gets an eyebrow raise, but she shrugs. "Depends on the species. I look human. Zhaan's blue."

That got a corresponding eyebrow raise. "Blue?" she echoes. "Huh. This place is a lot more than it seems." Guess you're not the strangest thing on this planet, Maxie.

She frowns a little. "Tell me someone has given you the usual warnings."

She tilts her head. "No warnings so far, but I can take care of myself."

"Good," Aeryn tells her. ""Especially since the warnings are more of the zombie and snow monster attack sort. I'm not making that up, either."

Max laughs a little. "Is this place for real? Aliens, zombies, and snow monsters? Next your going to tell me gremlins run the school."

"No, but a giant one did attack graduation." She is entirely serious.

Max believes her. "Guess I'll never be bored," she says.
