Squirrel Common Room, Monday Morning
Grogily, and still dressed in yesterday's clothes, Seras made her way into the common room.
She was still trying to shake off that 'How in God's name did I manage to sleep for 12 hours?' feeling.
She hadn't even got to see who her roommates were. Bugger.
Ah well.
Her Arts and Crafts workshop didn't start until this afternoon, so she was at loose ends until then.
Open!

"I'm from London," she said, "Not that that's something it'd take Sherlock Holmes to figure out."

"Well, you know Walter, so I thought maybe..."
She trailed off and shrugged.
"Lord, but that was strange," she laughed, "I come to America, and the first bloke I meet sounds like he came straight from Soho."

"Yeah. 'S been educational to say the least. Some of the people here can do the most amazing things..."
She shook her head.

"Yes, I've met him...I'm going to assume that...cutre ...is Argentinian for something repulsive?"

"Anything you'd care to discuss?" she asked, "Or would it just get you more worked up?"

"Based on what?" she said with sympathy.

Seras bit her lower lip, silent for a few moments, and then began to speak carefully. She didn't know Nadia very well yet and didn't want to upset her.
"I don't know either of you very well," she said, "But, it seems to me that the only way to get him to ease up would be to prove him wrong. I mean, human beings are stubborn, right? You can yell at them about something till they're blue in the face, but they'll just argue right back at you, convinced they're right. It takes seeing something for yourself to really change your mind. So, just go about your business and have fun. If you know you're right there's no point in getting angry, really, is there?" she said, "When all goes well, he'll see he was mistaken. This way, you'll be enjoying yourself and you'll have something to look forward to," she added with a grin.

"Best of luck to you," she said, "And...sorry for blathering on like that."
One too many court-appointed therapists could do that to a girl.
She bit her lip and raised her tin cup.
"To proving the wanker wrong," she toasted.
