Flamingo Campfire - Wednesday Evening [around sunset]

Veronica has never started a campfire.

But that isn't stopping her from trying.

Anyone wandering in the vicinity of the Flamingo cabin will see her sitting next to the fire ring, laptop propped on a chair and open to a website with instructions on how to start a campfire, desperately attempting to follow them. People nearby may also hear her swearing to herself because it doesn't seem to be working.

Bridge shrugs. "I don't know if I'd call this a *power*, really," he says thoughtfully. "I mean, anyone can learn how. It's just a matter of practice."

"Really?" Veronica asks. "Even normal people like me?"

"Yup!" Bridge nods. "A telekinesis ball is designed to be really, really sensitive to mental commands. So it's a good tool to use when you're just starting out."

"And where does one obtain a telekinesis ball?" Veronica wonders.

"KO-35, of course!"

Veronica blinks. "Is that a store?"

"Noooo. It's a space colony. In the Kerova sector."

"Oh, of course," Veronica says, still completely lost.

"Here," Bridge says, collapsing the telekinesis ball and tossing it at Veronica. "Try it."

Veronica catches the ball and looks at it skeptically.

"How do I make it work?" she asks.

"You just need to think 'open' at it, and it should." Bridge explains. "It should start floating on its own. And then you just kind of... push at it."

Xander watches with a mix of interest and skepticism. It's not the telekinesis he's skeptical about; he's seen that in action. Even Willow can float pencils, though he's not sure if that counts as psychic powers or magic. It's just the idea that anybody can do it that seems weird.

Veronica stares at the ball and thinks 'open'.

And wonders why she's even bothering to try this, because there's no way it's going to work.

After a few minutes, she looks up at Bridge. "I think I broke it."

Bridge frowns thoughtfully, and reaches to take the ball back. "That's weird." He says.

Veronica shrugs. "I didn't expect it to work, so I'm not disappointed or anything."

"Well, that could be why it didn't," Bridge points out. "If you weren't expecting it to, I mean."

"Really?" Veronica says. "Is it like a power of positive thinking kind of thing?"

"Kind of, yeah," Bridge shrugs. "I mean, telekinesis is all about moving things with your thoughts. If you're not really thinking it will move, it won't."

"Hmm, well I guess that makes sense," Veronica says. "Can I try again?"

"Sure," he hands the TK ball back to Veronica.

Veronica takes the ball and tries to clear her thoughts this time. She imagines what the ball looked like when Bridge was floating it and thinks 'open' again.

This time, it actually starts to open.

"It worked!" she exclaims, breaking her concentration and causing the ball to stop.

"See!" Bridge grins. "That's totally a good start!"

"You really have to concentrate hard to make it work," Veronica says, a little surprised.

"Like anything, it gets easier with practice. I can't do much more than push this thing around," he waves to indicate the ball, "but that's more than I could do when I started."

"That makes sense," Veronica nods. "If they ever start selling those things around here, I'll totally have to pick one up."
