Seahorse common room, Saturday afternoon

This is Jaye in a good mood. This should not come as a shock to the other residents of Seahorse A. But really, they brought back doughnuts and there's a toaster (which looks a little bit sheep-like, really) in case anyone wants that. It's something to alleviate the trauma. Yep uh huh but totally not.

And yes, Jaye totally knows introducing the toaster to the cabin full of boys and shirtless signs is a bad idea, but at least it could be a fun bad idea.

"Hi, Jack," Cedric says, returning his smile. "A talking toaster? It scares me that that doesn't surprise me."

[identity profile] anextimeagent.livejournal.com 2006-05-27 11:29 pm (UTC)(link)
"It's a nice toaster, except it doesn't want to run away with me and has broken my heart," he said mournfully. "But yeah, I wonder how long it will be before nothing is a surprise anymore."

[identity profile] chasingsnitches.livejournal.com 2006-05-27 11:36 pm (UTC)(link)
"It broke your heart?" Cedric mock glares at the toaster. "It must be defective."

[identity profile] anextimeagent.livejournal.com 2006-05-27 11:51 pm (UTC)(link)
"Jaye assures me it is, but it doesn't make the pain any less real." He looked at the ground and sighed sadly. "My poor fragile heart just can't handle rejection."

"There, there," Cedric says, patting him on the back. "It'll take time, patience, and, probably, alcohol but you'll get through this. There are other...toasters in the world."

[identity profile] anextimeagent.livejournal.com 2006-05-28 12:10 am (UTC)(link)
"I don't know," he said, leaning against Cedric. "There may be other toasters in the world, but when you've found the toaster that's just right for you...it's hard to imagine life without it." Tilting his head, he looked up at him through his lashes. "I might need serious comforting."

[identity profile] chasingsnitches.livejournal.com 2006-05-28 12:16 am (UTC)(link)
"It's all right, Jack," Cedric says, slipping an arm around his shoulder. "I'm here for you through this toaster related trauma. I won't leave you."

[identity profile] anextimeagent.livejournal.com 2006-05-28 12:29 am (UTC)(link)
"And suddenly I can see a light at the end of this tunnel of toaster related despair," he said, tilting his head to rest against Cedric's. "I guess knowing people are there for you makes all the difference."

[identity profile] chasingsnitches.livejournal.com 2006-05-28 12:35 am (UTC)(link)
"And, if you'd like me to, I can teach that toaster a lesson or two," he says, trying to be serious but failing miserably. "He won't know what hit him."

[identity profile] anextimeagent.livejournal.com 2006-05-28 12:48 am (UTC)(link)
"Oh, yes. Magic." Jack was trying unsucessfully to strangle a laugh. "That'll teach it to toy with the affections of someone who has a wizard for a friend."

[identity profile] chasingsnitches.livejournal.com 2006-05-28 12:52 am (UTC)(link)
"Too bad it's so crowded in here," he says in mock sadness, "or I'd do it. I guess magic will have to be saved for another time. I won't let the toaster hurt you though. I promise."

[identity profile] anextimeagent.livejournal.com 2006-05-28 01:16 am (UTC)(link)
"You'd stand between me and the toaster, even without magic?" Jack asked. "That's very brave of you. Noble even."

[identity profile] chasingsnitches.livejournal.com 2006-05-28 01:23 am (UTC)(link)
"I would, yes," he says, puffing out his chest. "It would be worth it. The world is better with you in it, Jack."

[identity profile] anextimeagent.livejournal.com 2006-05-28 01:38 am (UTC)(link)
"I don't know about that, but I'm extremely impressed that you'd risk yourself for me." He poked Cedric gently in the side. "I'll have to think up a suitable thank you."

[identity profile] chasingsnitches.livejournal.com 2006-05-28 01:48 am (UTC)(link)
Cedric grins and says, "Really? I'm pretty easy when it comes to being thanked, you'll find."

[identity profile] anextimeagent.livejournal.com 2006-05-28 01:57 am (UTC)(link)
"Maybe," Jack said with a grin. "But I think offering to save me from the ravages of a toaster and my own broken heart deserve something special." He paused, then asked, "Is there anything you want?"

[identity profile] chasingsnitches.livejournal.com 2006-05-28 02:10 am (UTC)(link)
Thinking about it for a moment, he nods. "There is, actually."

[identity profile] anextimeagent.livejournal.com 2006-05-28 02:22 am (UTC)(link)
Jack turned to look directly at Cedric. "Okay. What is it?"

[identity profile] chasingsnitches.livejournal.com 2006-05-28 02:29 am (UTC)(link)
"When you have time, I'd like to know more about you," he says. "You know about me but I know very little about you."

[identity profile] anextimeagent.livejournal.com 2006-05-28 02:48 am (UTC)(link)
"Oh. That's not what I was expecting." Jack shuffled his feet and leaned back on the counter. "Yeah, okay. I can do that. What sort of things do you want to know?"

[identity profile] chasingsnitches.livejournal.com 2006-05-28 03:04 am (UTC)(link)
"Jack, if you'd rather not, you don't have to," he says quietly. "I'm sorry if I've upset you."

[identity profile] anextimeagent.livejournal.com 2006-05-28 03:09 am (UTC)(link)
"What? No. Sorry." Jack reached out and slipped his arm around Cedric, rubbing his back. "Not upset. Just surprised." He shrugged. "I'm happy to tell you anything you want to know."

[identity profile] chasingsnitches.livejournal.com 2006-05-28 03:17 am (UTC)(link)
"All right," he says, letting one hand rest on the arm Jack has around him. "We don't have to do it now, though. It's crowded and toasters are lurking about. Sometime more quiet?"

[identity profile] anextimeagent.livejournal.com 2006-05-28 03:31 am (UTC)(link)
"Yeah. Sometime with less people around would be preferred." He managed a grin. "And the toaster may still have it in for me. I don't want to give it any ammunition for inflicting further trauma."

[identity profile] chasingsnitches.livejournal.com 2006-05-28 03:41 am (UTC)(link)
"Good, right." He smiles at Jack. "You're all right then? Besides the broken heart, of course."
