Camp grounds, afternoon-y

After a very relaxing morning at the salon, Buffy was totally ready to take some kick ass photos for photo class. She was holding her camera firmly and wandering around aimlessly looking for something to represent Blue, Earth and/or Leaves. She was very disturbable.

"Hey, Buffy," Dawn said, making her way back to the cabin from the library. "What're you doing?"

"Looking for something blue, earthy and leaf-like," Buffy explained, looking up from the ground. So far she'd found little stones and lots of dirt. "What've you been doing today then?"

"Researching in the lobby with Molly. We're thinking gnomes for Stickbugs. What do you think?" Dawn also looked pointedly up at the blue sky.

Buffy followed her look, puzzled. "Ooh, birds! ...Gnomes?"

Dawn nodded, though she couldn't believe Buffy had missed the sky. "Yeah. We're not one hundred percent sure which kind, but I think if we make the cabin attractive to them, they'll think it's a good place to hang out."

"And that would be bad, right? I'm totally ready to help with anything you need," she nodded. She looked up again. The clouds were kind of pretty, maybe she could take a photo of them--"The sky is blue!"

"Hopefully," Dawn smiled, then burst out laughing. "Oh. My. God. How do you not trip over more stuff?"

Buffy pouted at her, and took a picture of the sky. "I have really good balance."

"Good balance is important," Dawn agreed, smirking a little.

"And I'm totally perceptive! Sometimes. If I want to. I definitely noticed that Sam is a total cutie?"

"You met Sam?" Dawn's stomach tightened. "Isn't he nice?"

Jaye's walking back from a handwavey trip to town, bags in hand. She thinks she knows the wandery girl from somewhere, but it's not like Jaye actually pays attention to people. "You lost?" she asks.

"Hm?" Buffy looked over at her. "No, I'm just looking for something earthy or leaf-like to take a photo of. Artistic like, because it's from photo class. I'm Buffy, by the way."

"Jaye," she says. "I'm in that class. I really should do something for that, huh?"

Buffy nodded. "Thought I'd seen you before." She frowned towards dry branch lying near by. "Yeah, Veronica helped me with, like, email and stuff, so I thought I'd at least make an effort, you know?"

"Helped you with E-mail?" she repeats. "And yeah, V's cool. She can stay."

Buffy grinned. "Yeah, I'm a cheerleader, not a techno-geek. Computer stuff is kind of a geeky thing where I am from."

"Are you from another planet?" asks Jaye. Amazingly, not an insult. Actual question. "Computers good. Oh, wait, no, they have more technology there."

Buffy frowned. "Um. No? I'm from 1997. I don't think it's another planet. It's LA..."

"Okay, that? Kinda depends on how you look at it," she says. "So you're new to E-mail? You missed spam and weird chain letter forwards and all that? You poor thing."

Buffy looked bewildered. "Email has spam and chain letters? How does that work? ...Do I want to know?"

"Probably not, but I'm going to tell you anyway," she says. "So companies find your E-mail address, and they send you twenty thousand E-mails about how much you need to reconsolidate your loans or how Candy wants you to see her webcam or how to increase your penis size because lord knows they don't care who they're sending it to. And chain letters you just have to send this cheesy E-mail to forty-eight people or you'll have bad luck for a year." She shrugs.

"Hey, Buffy," Elizabeth smiled at her, snapping a book closed and wandering across. "Photography workshop?"

"Yup!" Buffy nodded. "I'm looking for earth and leaves. And hey! You tried out! Nice!"

Elizabeth blushed slightly. "D'anna made me," she explained. "I still need to do earth as well."
