5th floor common room - Tuesday morning

River hadn't slept that well. Not bad dreams this time, just her mind being at full speed and refusing to turn itself off for sleep mode. Hence she was tired in the morning with a mind still racing.

Someone had left a pot of blue paint in one of the common room cupboards. Perhaps it was the blue colour, or perhaps it was just sleep deprivation, but River felt suddenly inspired. She chose a wall and proceeded to pain a huge blue octopus on it, with some of the longer arms continuing on to the floor and ceiling.

Before heading to the clinic (http://community.livejournal.com/fandom_clinic/145496.html), Buffy wanted breakfast. So she went into the common room to find some cereal and stopped dead. "Woah."

River glanced at Buffy. "I got inspired."

"I see that. Why octopus?" Buffy asked, making her way towards the kitchenette.

Nadia wandered into the common room because . . . well, that was just something she did sometimes. She stood and regarded River's artwork.

"Octopus. Huh."

"Yes," River said. "It's an octopus." She wondered why that needed to be stated.

"Beatles fan?" Nadia asked.

Molly wandered in, still in her pajamas, looking for breakfast. "Morning," she said. "Nice octopus."

"Yo! Cornflakes?" Buffy offered, holding up the box.

"Nah." Molly grinned. "I've got my own," she said and pulled out a box of Chocolate Frosted Sugar Bombs. "Thanks though."

"I don't think we've met yet. I'm Molly," she said with a grin.

"Hey, Nadia. How's it going?" Molly asked.

Tyler was on his way to the roof to think when he noticed noise and the scent of paint coming from the fifth floor common room. He popped his head in. "What's up?"

"Hey Captain Tyler!" Buffy waved. "Breakfast?"

"Captain Buffy," Tyler grinned. "Sure. What do you have?"

River threw a quick glance at him, still working on the painting. "I'm painting."

"I see," Tyler said, hand going to his black eye. "You like octopuses? Octopi?"

"Hey, Tyler," Nadia waved.

"Squirrel-girl," Tyler greeted. "How goes it?"

Pippi, sans cat attributes, decided to make some breakfast for herself and gosling!Pip.

"Oh! Pretty octopus!" she said.

"Pippi! You're not all catinated!"

"I know!" she gleed at Nadia. "Isn't it great!?"

"Honk!"

"Thank you."

"Thank you," River said. "I'm River, who are you?" It was time to make the introductions quick now.

"You're welcome." she said, "I'm Pippi I live in 504. This is Pip," she motioned to the gosling that was sitting on her shoulder. "He doesn't usually look like this, it's turning out to be one of those weeks."
