Gym - Sunday Afternoon - Cheerleading Practice

Marie arrived at the gym early, toting her pom-poms and ready for practice.

She was also carrying what appeared to be a length of PVC pipe, which was decorated with blue and gold glitter and streamers and resting on a blue pillow with gold fringe.

It was time for the Fandom High cheerleaders to have a spirit stick.



[ooc: please wait for ocd up, yay. also? I totally watched Bring It On the other day for research. please do not have your character drop the spirit stick without talking to me though. I have plans.]

"It's for good luck," Marie replied. "And it can never touch the ground, that's why it's on the pillow."

"So it just sits there?" Alec looked a little bemused.

"No! The cheerleaders or mascot can wave it around to help increase the spirit in the crowd," she explained. "And we can all touch it for luck before a game."

"Huh." He shrugged, eyeing the thing before giving Marie another grin. "I've never done cheerleading before, but whatever works, right?"

"Right!" Marie agreed happily. "I can't believe we only have six days before the game."

"Only six?" Alec grimaced faintly. "I hope Buffy's out of the clinic by then."

"Buffy's in the clinic? What happened?" Marie asked, concerned.

"She got knocked out." He half-shrugged, feigning non-chalance. "If you heard the radio, they mentioned fighting, and she was in one of the groups. She hasn't woken up yet, from what I heard."

Marie frowned. "I hope she's okay."

Alec nodded, quiet. "Yeah. But if there was anything we could do for her, it'd be making sure cheerleading goes well." He smirked. "Given all the work she put into getting all this started."

River observed Alec, wondering if the guy was still upset about their previous conversation.

Alec noticed River watching him and looked at her sharply. He didn't say anything though, possibly hoping they could just let it drop.
