Dorm Roof, Wednesday afternoon

After his Karate workshop, Pip found himself with a burning need for a cigarette. And since he had promised Molly that he wouldn't smoke in the common room any longer, here he was, out on the roof in his exercise clothes, smoking said cigarette.

"Trust me," Pip said. "You'll be glad you did when the time comes."

"Yeah I know I...just wish it wasn't so hard, Mai already knows I'm leaving I think, but I don't know how I'm going to say goodbye to her, I almost left a while ago and she didn't take it so well back then." she replied.

Pip nodded. "Maia doesn't like it when people leave. Very gentle person, our Maia."

"And know that's one of the reasons I didn't leave then, you'll make sure she'd okay right?" she asked, because really Mai was the person she'd miss most, she'd still see her sisters.

"Of course I will. I'll always keep an eye out for Maia."

"Thanks Pip," she replied as what he said made her think of something. "Can I ask you something?"

"Sure."

She bit her lip and looked at him, "what happened to your eye?"

Pip blinked a few times and sighed. He relased her and sat on the edge of the roof, motioning her to sit next to him.

"You don't have to tell me if you don't want to,' she said sitting close to him, "but I did tell you my biggest secret," she pointed out clearly joking, she wasn;t going to force him to talk about it.

Pip nodded and took a drag on his cigarette.

"When I was ten, my grandfather's company took a job in the Middle East, exterminating some terrorist infighters that were attack oil rigs," he began. "In response, the terrorists invading the school I was staying at, hoping to convince my grandfather to call off the job or they'd kill me. My grandfather made an initial refusal and started making plans to rescue me. While they were planning, they decided that they needed to show him that they meant business. So... they ripped out my eye and sent it to him."

"Fuck!" Paige replied putting her arm around him, "still the eye patch is pretty sexy," she told him attempting to lighten the mood a little.

"Yep. That's why I have it instead of a prosthetic. Makes me look rakish."

"It works for you definitely, cause some could argue it's your natural good looks that make it look so sexy," she teased.

"It enhances my already naturally good looks," Pip said. "Like putting beautiful flowers into a nice vase."

Paige smirked, "yeah that makes sense," she took a deep breath, "god I'm gonna miss this place, I fell in love here you know, found my sisters and cleaning myself up."

Tears came to her eyes again, "I should maybe go find the others, say goodbye to them too."

Pip nodded and rubbed Paige's back. "You should. Saying good bye is important. Take it from someone who's said goodbye way too many times."

Paige stood and smiled at Pip, "I'm really glad I met you Pip, good luck with everything in the future, maybe we'll run into each other some time huh?"

Pip nodded. "Stranger things have happened. Last week I turned into a small goose." He grinned and nodded. "I'm glad I met you too, Paige. Good luck with everything."

Paige raised an eyebrow at that, "I'd say how weird that was, but you know, in this place not so much."

She shrugged slightly, "hey I'm a Halliwell I don't need luck!" she told him, "but thanks Pip, I hope I will see you around cos I kinda like the idea of having you on my team."

Pip's grin grew wider. "Special rate for friends. And no charge in life or death situations."

Paige laughed, "I get the feeling we'll be a lot of those," she told him, "so I'll see you around then Pip okay?" she said turning to walk away, she wasn;t going to say goodbye because she just coudln't.
