The Gremlins Game - Cheerleaders/Audience - 01:30 FHT

"Go! Fight! Win!" The cheerleaders cheered enthusiastically as the audience shuffled into the gym. The players were already in place, and the gym was definitely ready for game time.

Unfortunately, since Fandom did not yet have any of the Dibblers, no hot pies, hot dogs or rats-onna-stick were being served.

Anakin grinned. "Occasionally, I have my moments."

"Any idea how this game works?" she asks.

Anakin shook his head. "Not even a little bit." He shrugged. "I had to have someone explain football to me early last year."

"Football I understand," she says. "I even tried to make it more tactically interesting. This one... Cameron tried to explain it to me a long time ago, but as we only practiced dribbling, I think I'm missing the rules."

Anakin wrinkled up his nose. "They dribble? Eww."

"With the ball," she clarifies, making a motion like she's dribbling, and probably looking like a dork. "I thought the same thing."

Anakin blinked. "This might be the stupidest sport ever."

"Yes, that's what I'm thinking," she says, shaking her head.

"This planet..." Anakin said, shaking his head.

"I know," she says, still amazed by it sometimes. "Welcome to the rest of my life."

Anakin gave her a small smile. "Some days I envy you. Even with everything that went with it..." he trailed off. "Sometimes I just want to chuck it all and stay." He yanked at his braid. "It's irresponsible and impossible. I want to do it anyway."

"It has its good points and its bad points," she says. "I, for one, wouldn't mind if you did stay. But I also know you know better."

Anakin nodded. "You think you'll be able to come to Coruscant? Because it helps explain why I can't stay here." He sighed. "Much as I'd love to."

"I think I'll be able to make it," she agrees. "I am curious."

"I think you'll enjoy it." He grinned. "Or at least watching some of the students from here who've never seen some of the more alien aspects of life in space adjusting to a trillion beings on a planet." He paused. "And the food's pretty good, too."

"It might be good, seeing so many different people all in one place," she says, considering this. "Which is probably odd, coming from someone with my background, but..." She shrugs a little.

"I kind of miss it," Anakin admitted. "I mean, it's hard to stand out when you're one of a trillion. And sometimes that's a good thing."

"Such as when you're not supposed to," she says, knowing that very well.

Anakin grinned. "Exactly. Even with the Jedi Temple being housed there, it's still possible to disappear. At least for an evening."

"I look forward to seeing it," she tells him with a smile.

"It's..." Anakin shrugged. "Frankly? Incredibly bright and slightly tacky. But it's the center of the galaxy. And every being there knows it. There's an energy I've never found anywhere else."

"I haven't spent much time in places like that," Aeryn admits. "I usually saw planets by way of camps and battlegrounds. It should be a change."

"It's a shift," Anakin agreed. "And Coruscant is very, very loud. But the Temple is quiet." He smiled. "I think you'll like it there."

"You might not get me to leave."

Anakin smiled. "Think you could handle the haircut?"
