"Yesterday? My room, the basketball game, the park, and this room. It's hard to find space to be alone sometimes," he commiserated. "Are you alright?"

"I missed the cheerleading and basketball," River said, frowning. "But I needed alone-time. I'm good now."

He had a sip of his tea. "I'm going to go jump off the roof in a little while."

River raised an eyebrow. "Isn't that something you do when you feel very bad?"

Walter shook his head. "No, that's something other people do when they feel very bad. I do it for fun because I won't get hurt."

"Oh. How come?" River has some idea but her mun hasn't, but she knows it's rude to read people's minds, so she tries not to.

Walter held up his hand to show her the rings he wore on each finger. "Wires come out of these and I use them to control my fall. I can even do it for another person at the same time."
