Third Floor Common Room, Lunchtime

After a handwavey walk into town for supplies, Dawn set out a bunch of sandwich fixings, pretzels, chips of various descriptions, cookies, fruit, lemonade, iced tea, and soda.

A small handwritten sign told people to help themselves, so she didn't have to keep repeating herself.

As for Dawn, she sat down with a book to enjoy her hummus with cheese, sprouts, carrots and sweet pickles. Occasionally she sipped from her lemonade.

[ooc: Open to all, mod any sandwich fixings or side items you'd like.]

"I agree. Trenchcoats are better. First of all if it rains? You are already wearing a coat. Second? Coats have pockets. Very handy if you don't like wearing utility belts with lots of pouches."

"I find that a waistcoat is really all I need most of the time. What would you carry anyway? Trenchcoats seem both bulky and hot, particularly in the sort of weather we have around here."

"Supplies. Wallet. Lighter. Cell phone. Keys. Enough spare change for a Grape Judas at the Kwik stop," Jamie said. "And I've never really had a problem with wearing a trenchcoat despite the weather."

Walter dug in his pocket and pulled out his wallet (http://www.irvs.com/dbimages/3000-111.jpg), produced a lighter from the other, and his cellphone from an inside pocket of his waistcoat.

"And the lines are better."

"Yeah but you look like a butler," Jamie said. "And no offense, that's not the look I'm going for."

"You wouldn't wear it well anyway," Walter said, before remembering the long term plan. "Your look is perfect for you. Very fitting."

"Yeah I've never been one for a suit," Jamie said hoping the subject didn't go anywhere near uniforms or costumes.

"Is it a mutant power to be able to wear a trench coat in the summer without suffering heat prostration?" Walter retrieved the not quite leaning tower of sandwich and grabbed a chair. "Because I can wear a waistcoat in this weather, but the trench coat would be more than pushing my luck."

"I'm sure there's some mutant out there that has that power but not me," Jamie said with a shrug. "Maybe it's because I'm wearing jeans and a t-shirt while you have more of the formal wear thing going."

"I think Alfred is a bit annoyed with me at the moment, so no informality for me for a bit," Walter said, looking down at his clothes. "Yesterday he had me scrub the restaurant kitchen with a toothbrush."

"Who's Alfred?" Jamie asked. "He sounds like a drill sergeant."

"Alfred is the owner of Cafe Fina and my tutor in butlery," Walter explained. "And I believe that he would have most drill sergeants weeping like babies in short order."
