Third Floor Common Room, Lunchtime

After a handwavey walk into town for supplies, Dawn set out a bunch of sandwich fixings, pretzels, chips of various descriptions, cookies, fruit, lemonade, iced tea, and soda.

A small handwritten sign told people to help themselves, so she didn't have to keep repeating herself.

As for Dawn, she sat down with a book to enjoy her hummus with cheese, sprouts, carrots and sweet pickles. Occasionally she sipped from her lemonade.

Sam's eyes widened, and he grinned. "Does it make me a gigantic geek if I say that that sounds like the coolest job ever?"

"Well, I know he's at least told Alec about the idea," Sam said quickly. "But I don't know if Alec's as crazy about it as Dean is."

"Maybe?" She giggled, "So if you decide you don't want to run around the country with your dad and Dean, you have a place where you're needed, okay?"

"Huh. Weird that Dean's so gung ho on the idea."

"If I end up knocking on your door someday, just remember that we had this conversation," Sam replied.

"It's not that weird, I guess. Dean's got a protective streak a mile long, and since he thinks Alec needs protecting...it's kind of hard to talk him out of that kind of attitude once he's latched onto someone. I bet if you didn't have people to go home to, he'd want to bring you with us too."

"I'll look forward to it," Dawn grinned, "but I hope I'll know you're coming because we'll still be talking to each other regularly."

She snorted. "Yeah, because that wouldn't be at all weird. You, me, Alec, and Dean driving your father insane as we hunt creepy spooky things."

Sam smiled. "I don't see any reason why we wouldn't be still talking regularly."

"Driving my dad insane might actually be worth it, if it means getting to have you around. Because it would be fun, and nice," he added.

"Me neither," she smiled, "and we'll just have to make sure we see each other once we leave here. Roomies stick together, right?"

"You're stuck with me, now. Might want to file a complaint with the administration."

"Roomies have to stick together. I'm pretty sure that's a rule." Sam laughed. "I'd file a complaint, but I don't really think I have anything to complain about."

Dawn snorted and hopped off the counter. "You may be the first person in history to have nothing to complain about when it comes to living with me."

"Hey, you're clean, you don't wake me up in the morning, and you don't complain about the noises I make in my sleep. What's not to like?" Sam teased.

"You make noises in your sleep? Huh, I never noticed." Dawn grinned back, "and I'm not nearly as clean when I'm living with other girls. But I figure it's not fair to you if I leave my clothes and underwear all over the place."
