Peter had his St. George's cross flag close by as he waited impatiently for the match to begin.  England vs. Ecuador with continued participation in the World Cup at stake.

He had run down to J, GOB ostensibly to get some pastries to share for breakfast but really because he couldn't sit still any longer so there was a selection of muffins and doughnuts on one of the tables.

Now for the football to start...

"It's not wasting time!" Peter said. "It's a strategy! Defensive tactics and such."

"Ah." she said, "They just make it look like their waiting time... Very cunning!"

"Exactly. It throws the other team off their game," Peter said, grinning. "We're tricky ones, we British."

"We are," Peter replied, snickering. "We're very up front about our trickery."

"If Drake and Ralley were anything like you Pete." she mused. "It's really no wonder they were such great... Privateers."

"They were licensed by the Queen," Peter said. "It was very, very gentlemanly. Who else says 'I'm going to board you now, here's my warrant?'"

Peter started laughed about halfway through the list. "So they were exceedingly gentlemanly too. Probably learned it from the British."

"More than possible," Peter replied with a nod. "Because really..."

"You should add 'humble' to your list of things that describe English Gentlemen."

"I was considering it," Peter agreed. "But it would fall under the heading 'only about important things.' You see, humbleness and understatement is important say if one's leg is cut off. Then it's 'just a little scratch' or some such."
