Peter had his St. George's cross flag close by as he waited impatiently for the match to begin.  England vs. Ecuador with continued participation in the World Cup at stake.

He had run down to J, GOB ostensibly to get some pastries to share for breakfast but really because he couldn't sit still any longer so there was a selection of muffins and doughnuts on one of the tables.

Now for the football to start...

"Are we losing?" Willow asked. In case it would help, she pumped her fist and said, "Up England! Up! UP!"

"No, we're up 1-0," Peter reassured her. "That was just a nice rush by Ecuador. Who are in the yellow shirts."

"Oh, so we're still in the same colors?" Willow asked. "That doesn't change from game to game?"

"No, England was in red for the Sweden game. Today we're wearing white. But yes, both Sweden and Ecuador have yellow jerseys."

"Do Sweden and Ecuador ever switch places, thus allowing confusion and wacky hijinks to ensue?" Willow asked.

"Not that I've ever heard of," Peter said, laughing. "But then, I freely admit, I'm still catching up on the football history for the past 60 years. Though I suppose if they're going to do that, England and Switzerland could trade places too. Not that England would want to."

"Of course not," Willow said. She let her head rest on his shoulder. "So does England switch uniforms so the others can be washed?"

Peter brought his hand up to stroke her hair. "I suppose they do. Or just use the different colours so there aren't any mixups between teams. Ecuador seems to have red as part of their flag as well, so if Britain wore red it might be confusing."

Willow smiled at the hair stroking. She slipped an arm around Peter's waist. "That makes sense. So it's not a rule that everyone who fights England has to wear yellow? Just happened that way?"

"Not a rule, no. If we win here, we'll play either Portugal or Holland, and neither of them wear yellow. I think Holland's uniforms are bright orange actually."

"Who would you rather we play?" Willow asked.

"Holland, I think," Peter said. "Though I honestly don't know too much about either team."

"At least now we're even," Willow grinned. "But I'm learning. I'll be a footie expert yet."

"I don't doubt that a bit," Peter replied. "And then you'll have to explain the game to me." He almost leaped up as Beckham scored from a free kick, but remembered in time that Willow was leaning against him. "Hurray! Beckham!"

Willow giggled. "Should I move so you're unencumbered for cheering?"

Peter hugged her up against him instead. "No. I like you there. I don't need to bounce around like a madman."

Willow hugged back. "I like being here. Can we watch all footie games like this? I promise to make up for the lack of jumping by cheering extra loud when you do."

"If you like, we most certainly can," Peter agreed easily. He looked over at Willow. "Su's always gotten on me for being a bit obsessed about sport. You can too if you need to."

"I'll let you know," Willow promised. "Personally I think it's a fair trade for all the times I'll be computer or magic obsessed, so we're good."

"Shake on it?" Peter asked with a small grin.

"It's a deal," Willow said, offering her hand.

Peter shook happily, lifting her hand to his lips for a quick kiss afterwards.

He grinned. "So on a non-footy related topic, I'm supposed to spar with Joxer after this." He realised that could possibly be interpreted badly. "Just to spar, not because of other things."

Willow smiled at the kiss, but then looked worried. "Other things like me, right? This isn't because of me?"

"No, it's not," Peter said seriously. "Which is why I'm telling you so it doesn't come up on the radio and cause you worry."

"Okay, good," Willow said. "Because Joxer is very sweet, if inadvertently insulting and troubling."
