Peter had his St. George's cross flag close by as he waited impatiently for the match to begin.  England vs. Ecuador with continued participation in the World Cup at stake.

He had run down to J, GOB ostensibly to get some pastries to share for breakfast but really because he couldn't sit still any longer so there was a selection of muffins and doughnuts on one of the tables.

Now for the football to start...

"No, it's not," Peter said seriously. "Which is why I'm telling you so it doesn't come up on the radio and cause you worry."

"Okay, good," Willow said. "Because Joxer is very sweet, if inadvertently insulting and troubling."

Peter frowned at the 'inadvertently insulting' bit but then shook his head. "That was already taken care of. This is just sparring for the sake of sparring." He grinned "I just want to see how he is with a sword. Just in fun."

"Fun is good," Willow said. "I'm all for fun. And thank you for telling me so I didn't get worried. Will you be in the sword room?"

"No, the gym, I think," Peter said. "Practice blades and all that. Seems like a better idea."

He watched intently as the clock ran down on the 90 minutes and just stoppage time was left.

"Careful you don't get splinters," Willow said. "Or get poked in the eye."

"But it's all fun and games until...oh, wait, right," Peter said, laughing. "I shall do my best." He added with as much a bow as can be given when sitting with another person on a couch. A sketch of a bow if you like.

"Good," Willow gave him a kiss on the cheek. "Now I won't have to worry."

Peter neglected to mention that out of all the training possibilities there were, he was guessing that sparring in the gym was one of the least dangerous. He squeezed her hand gently and said "I hope you don't."

"I won't," Willow said. "I trust you. Plus if you get hurt I'll kill you."

Peter paused. "This afternoon, you mean? Or ever?"

"Ever," Willow said, patting him on the leg. "I feel it's part of our deal."

"I...err, well, I don't generally plan on it, but it does happen..." Peter stutters. And he doesn't even notice time running out on the game, as he tries to form a response to Willow's statement.

"I know, I know," Willow said. She gave him a hug. "That was just my way of saying I'd be upset if you were hurt. Sorry. Willow humor."

Peter grinned and hugged her back. "You had me going way, way too well, there. You have far too truthful face, you know."

"I get that a lot," Willow said. "Look! The sky is plaid!"

Peter stuck his tongue out at her. "I'm not falling for that again."

Willow was, of course, very mature. Which is why she absolutely did not try to poke his tongue with her finger, then swipe said finger on Peter's nose.

Peter tried to move back far enough to prevent Willow from succeeding, but he really didn't make it. Thus probably why he tried to grab her hand on the way away from his nose.

Willow gave an indignant "Eep!" and tried to get her hand free.

Or at least made a show of trying. "Give that back!"

"Nope," Peter said, making a show of examining it. "I think I'm keeping it."

Willow mock-pouted. "But it's the only one I have."

Peter raised an eyebrow at her. "And here I thought these hands came in pairs."

"I only have the one right hand," Willow pointed out, not unreasonably. "The other one's shaped differently."

Peter kept playing with her fingers. "If you must, I suppose, you must."
