5th Floor Commonroom: Monday Morning - Before Workshops - Pancakes and PJs!

Pippi had put up posters last night. So she got up early to make pancakes, because setting something down on poster board and going over it in glitter is like a sacred trust. Or something.

So here she is wearing a big cotton night shirt and bunny slippers in the 5th Floor Commonroom flipping up a flock of flapjacks to the music playing on her laptop.

She might be singing a little song about pancakes to herself and doing a little dance...

"Mumble mumble blah blah... pancakes don't lie... hmmm mmmm hmmmm hmmmm."

"It did happen on Saturday, and now it's happening again?" Pippi grinned and shrugged.

"It's possible that it should have happened on Sunday... But if you don't want pancakes..."

"Now, I never said that." Nadia was pretty sure there were people who would lynch her for ever trying to make pancakes again.

At least her empanadas usually went over pretty well.

"Well then." Pippi said flipping some onto a plate. "That's good, otherwise we'd have to check you out for horns or bad breath."

"Huh. Well, no horns or bad breath here." Well, she hadn't brushed her teeth yet, so maybe a little of the latter, but that didn't bear mentioning.

"La Llarona? She's a pretty widespread Latin American ghost. Sophia, the woman who ran my orphanage, used to tell us about her."

Pippi supposed that children's homes probably weren't so bad after all, but still probably not for her.

"What was it like? Growing up there?"

"Well . . ." Nadia shrugged. "I didn't, not really. I was only there for five years--until I was ten. Then I ran away. But I guess it wasn't too bad. Sophia was always very kind, but some of the other workers. . . ." She shuddered. "They weren't, so much. And the other girls could be very mean, too."
