5th Floor Commonroom: Monday Morning - Before Workshops - Pancakes and PJs!

Pippi had put up posters last night. So she got up early to make pancakes, because setting something down on poster board and going over it in glitter is like a sacred trust. Or something.

So here she is wearing a big cotton night shirt and bunny slippers in the 5th Floor Commonroom flipping up a flock of flapjacks to the music playing on her laptop.

She might be singing a little song about pancakes to herself and doing a little dance...

"Mumble mumble blah blah... pancakes don't lie... hmmm mmmm hmmmm hmmmm."

Pippi had just flipped one into the air, she turned to Seras.

"Thanks!" she said as the pancake landed on her head and slid down onto a plate.

She set the plate aside. That one will be hers.

"I've had a lot of practice. Walter prepared a bunch of toppers for them."

Seras laughed, both at the pancake and at Walter's topper preparing.

"Trust Walter to go into butler mode even when he doesn't have to. That was nice of him, though."

"Being a butler is a big part of his... Persona." she said. "I decided not to put them out myself so he'd have something to do."

"Mm...this is part of that whole 'learning your friends quirks' thing, isn't it?"

Pippi shrugged. "I guess. I mean, what's important to my friends is important to me. And if something makes them happy, then I'm happy."

"And, being all butlery makes Walter happy?" asked Seras.

The look that flashed across her face could possibly have been guilt. Self-recrimination was also a good guess.

"It's certainly important to him." she said. "Near as I can tell anyway."

Seras groaned.

"I really need practise at this whole 'friendship' thing," she said.

"What? What are you talking about?" Pippi said.

Seras shrugged then swallowed.

"Before coming to fandom, I hadn't really had any friends. I don't think I'm very good at it," explained Seras.

"It's not a contest." Pippi said handing her a plate of pancakes. "Nobody is grading you."

Seras nodded, taking the pancakes with thanks.

"I know that," she said, "That isn't how I meant it."

"How didja mean it?" she asked with some consern.

Seras shrugged.

"Just the way I said it. That I don't have much experience being friends with people, and that I probably need to work on it."

Pippi smiled at her. "I think you're doing fine."

Seras smiled back and sampled the pancakes.

She made a happy noise and had another bite.

"I take it that's good?"

"Yussfuhguh."*

Yes, very good

"thanks!"

"yuhwuhcuh."

"So. any big plans today?"

Seras swallowed.

"Arts and Crafts workshop," she said, "Then, I think I'll go to the shooting range. I need to practise that too."

"Pactice makes perfect." Pippi said nodding.
