Salle - Wednesday Afternoon

Immediately following the karate workshop, Peter made his way to the salle.  

Placing the two practice blades he'd grabbed from the gym to the side, he began to stretch again, reviewing his lesson plan and cursing himself once more for being an idiot yesterday.  Several hours of power based moves after not doing any for a month?  Not the best idea he'd ever had.  He half-expected Setsuna to notice his stiffness and give him the a hard time like he'd given her after she overworked last week.  Not that it was the same thing at all, of course.

Peter nodded. "Exactly. Well, half-human, half-horse. They're great warriors and philosophers. It's an honour that they reside in our country."

"Did you encounter many problems training with them? I can imagine that their approach to battle would need to be significantly modified to accomidate the much different form, strength, even height, of a human body..."

"In part," Peter replied. "Certainly. Ed and I learned much from histories and books about the way men fight, and also much from them. We learned their forms, their strikes, and adapted it to our footwork and movements." He grinned. "We learned much about speed from them. And much about precision. One doesn't train with a creature three or four times one's weight without that. But as I said, there were also human armsmasters sometimes. And they trained us too."

She smiles softly. "I did notice that about your footwork; you seem extremely quick for a Western style. I suppose that definately explains it."

She moves swiftly onto her next question. "Any particularly interesting stories to share about training or fighting, Peter?"

Peter grinned. "I suppose I could tell the story of how I learned that dropping one's sword is bad and being able to not trip over one's feet is bad. Really learned it, that is. It's pretty obvious that the idea of it is bad."
