Gym, morning before workshops

It had been way too long since Cameron had been in the gym so he showed up early for his session with Veronica so he hit the machines planning to make up for some of his slacking off.

Cameron laughed. "Probably, but if you and Molly like him then there's got to be something to it."

"We both like you, too," Veronica pointed out. "I guess there's no accounting for taste."

"On second thought, I might have to reconsider," Cameron said, still grinning.

Veronica was glad to see him smiling.

"So what are you going to do now?" she asked.

"I don't know," he said with a shrug. "We're gonna go back to being friends and I'm gonna sit on the bench for a while and get up close and personal with the single's life."

"That's not necessarily a bad thing," Veronica said. "I kind of did some relationship jumping before Logan. And actually, the time off between when we broke up back home and we got back together here probably did me a lot of good."

"I hope so. I just wish that it didn't involve hurting Molly."

"It'll probably be good for her, too," Veronica said. "She obviously knows you need this."

"I don't deserve her," Cameron flapped out, quickly regretting the words.

"Gah!" He rubbed his hands across his face as if he could rub away the mood. "Pretend I didn't say that. Enough of this. It's gonna be fine. We're gonna be friends again and that's not so bad."

"Don't you dare even think something like that," Veronica said. "You're a really good guy and you deserve to be happy. But you need to be happy with you first and wow, now I sound like I belong on a bad daytime talk show."

She grinned. "Besides, if you don't get your act together, I'll just kick your ass."

He wasn't sure what to say to the first part, but he did know a response to the latter.

"Not if you don't practice."

She sighed heavily. "I think I'm done for today," she said. "Playing relationship counselor wore me out," she teased. "But I promise to practice before we meet again on Tuesday, okay?"

"Fair enough," he nodded. "Let me know how the Yoga goes?"

"If I try it, I will," Veronica promised. "I'm going out of town this weekend though, so I might not try that until next week."

Cameron raised an eyebrow. "Are you eloping to Vegas without telling me?"

"Uh, no," Veronica said, her expression faintly horrified. "Archie and I are going to DC for the weekend."

Cameron looked amused at her expression. "Sounds like fun."

Noticing his amusement, she decided to strike back.

"Angel and I aren't eloping to Vegas until Spring Break next year," she added.

Momentarily confused, Cameron stared at Veronica but his common sense soon caught up with him and he laughed. "I really hope you've got some sort of plan to keep Callisto from killing you because I might actually miss you around."

"We haven't actually worked that out yet," Veronica said. "But we have plenty of time."

"If she doesn't find out before that," Cameron pointed out. "She hasn't been in the best of moods lately."

"That's what I've heard," Veronica said. "You do realize I'm kidding, right?"

"I was asuming something along those lines," Cameron snickered.

Veronica grinned. "I kind of promised him we could get married in Vegas if he didn't die back when he was sick over Spring Break," she explained. "It's been a running joke with us ever since."

"Well, it's a pretty nice incentive to stay alive," Cameron chuckled.
