Bridge was bored. So he'd dragged the telekinesis ball out of his room, since he hadn't practiced in a while, and sat down crosslegged on a couch in the common room to do so.

After a few minutes, he had the ball floating in a lazy circuit around the room.

*Always useful. Can you move big things too?*

*Not yet,* Bridge admits, *but I haven't been training for very long. I hope to eventually.*

*I like this,* River said, smiling at the ball. *Oh, Pippi and I are building a raft. And maybe Berthold will come along when we try it out.*

*Bed monsters like rafting?* Bridge asks, because he doesn't know much about bed monsters at all.

*Berthold does. Or perhaps it's just a part of his process of coming out from under the bed occasionally. It's a very safe place. But I need to get him a blanket.*

*To hide under. He's shy.* River replied, smiling at Bridge. It was nice to be able to talk this way.

Bridge blushes and looks down at the couch cushions. *Yes.*
