Second Floor Common Room [Thursday Morning]

Bridge was bored. So he'd dragged the telekinesis ball out of his room, since he hadn't practiced in a while, and sat down crosslegged on a couch in the common room to do so.

After a few minutes, he had the ball floating in a lazy circuit around the room.

"Hey Draco," Nadia waved a little hesitantly, since she knew who this guy was, but she hadn't exactly talked to him for any length of time.

"Hey Nadia." says Draco, waving back. "How have you been?"

"Okay. You?"

"Now that the whole ghost thing is cleared up I'm doing better." he says "Apart from the whole 'summer' thing. Guys like me fear the sun."

"You mean pale and British? Because Walter doesn't fear the sun, even though he burns pretty easily,"

"He's a brave one then." he says "I think about the sun and I get burnt."

Well, yes. He was. And that was part of the problem, really.

"Well, it's possibly because he's dating a South American and doesn't want to look foolish."

"Ah, that's it. Lucky for me my last girlfriend was also pale and British." he says "Between the two of us we had a fantastic umbrella collection."

"I'll bet you did. Who was your last girlfriend?"

"Her name was Lily Evans. She was Harry Potter's mum a student here but she went home in December." he says "Very pale. Very British."

"Well, not quite December." Nadia smiled. "She was my roommate, for awhile. She was nice."

"Was she? Well I'm glad you go to know her while she was here." he says "I'm still on the whole 'moving on' stage."

"I'm sorry. That stage always sucks."

"That's ok. Can only go up from here." says Draco. He paused for a second and said "That was strangely optimistic of me."

"You're not usually optimistic?" Nadia was wondering if a rooftop ritual was in order.

With somewhat less than the usual bouncing, though. That . . . hadn't gone so well, last time.

"No, not normally. I've been getting better though." he admits "I've got the typical daddy issues that I've been trying to get through. Coming to this school has helped a lot, actually."

"I'm beginning to think those of us with daddy issues should start a club. Or a support group, or something."

"Now there's an idea. Could have a bake sale to raise money for our therapy bills." says Draco, smiling.

"And if everyone pays a little bit in dues, we'd have plenty of funds. Seems like a lot of folks have daddy issues."

"I'm beginning to think that it's one of the requirements to get into this school."

"Parental issues, certainly."
