Stickbug Campfire [Sunday Night]

Greg was there, and with him he had several packets and jars of various substances that looked like they might be unpleasant to eat or get in one's eye. They were labeled things like MgSO42− and Na2B4O7·10H2O.

He was also eating some marshmallows as he scorched them.

[Open, yay!]

"No rain, lots of sun, surf and fun, and pretty fireworks," she grinned happily. "All in all? It was a huge success. How was your trip?"

[identity profile] once-a-king.livejournal.com 2006-07-10 01:28 am (UTC)(link)
"That sounds brilliant. I'm glad to hear it," Peter said. "The trip turned out for the best, but it wasn't much fun at all. I'm glad I'm back."

Isabel nodded, she had a feeling she'd be saying something similar when she returned from Roswell. "We're glad you're back as well. And with perfect timing for the new session. Have you signed up for any workshops?"

[identity profile] once-a-king.livejournal.com 2006-07-10 01:39 am (UTC)(link)
"Thank you very much," Peter said with a warm smile. "I think the timing was taken care of by my guardian. I actually spent a longer time at home then I was gone. I did get signed up for workshops though: First Aid again, Constant Vigilance, Wilderness Survival and that Friends one. What are you taking this session?"

[identity profile] izzyalienqueen.livejournal.com 2006-07-10 01:43 am (UTC)(link)
"We'll have First Aid and Constant Vigilance together," she smiled. "I've also signed up for Scoobying and Cooking and Baking. I'm having a little more fun this time around."

[identity profile] once-a-king.livejournal.com 2006-07-10 01:51 am (UTC)(link)
"That shall be fun," Peter replied. "I'm looking forward to both those classes. Especially if there's badgers again. Scoobying sounded like it was a lot of fun. I wanted to sign up for that too."

[identity profile] izzyalienqueen.livejournal.com 2006-07-10 02:04 am (UTC)(link)
"I feel pretty confident that'll I'll be able to handle any sort of badger injury or injury caused by a badger. Which is definitely a life skill I'm sure I'll need." Isabel smiled fondly, "the class should be fun. Xander was my roommate for the Spring, I promised him I'd take his workshop at some point."

[identity profile] once-a-king.livejournal.com 2006-07-10 02:13 am (UTC)(link)
"Oh, I think our badger knowledge will carry over to any animal attacker," Peter said with a grin. "Wolves, tigers, zebras...we'll be set."

[identity profile] izzyalienqueen.livejournal.com 2006-07-10 02:20 am (UTC)(link)
Isabel laughed. "Here in Fandom? That's always a possibility. Not so much back in Roswell. Although the prospect of a badger attack in the middle of the Crashdown does sound entertaining."

[identity profile] once-a-king.livejournal.com 2006-07-10 02:30 am (UTC)(link)
"That would be funny," Peter replied, laughing. "Though even if badgers aren't native, perhaps a rabid prairie dog attack? Or coyotes? You have coyotes all over out west, right?"

[identity profile] izzyalienqueen.livejournal.com 2006-07-10 02:36 am (UTC)(link)
"We have coyotes, and various reptiles. And if Michael hasn't had a haircut recently? Then we also have a sheepdog that walks on two legs," Isabel grinned.

[identity profile] once-a-king.livejournal.com 2006-07-10 02:40 am (UTC)(link)
"Hmm, I wonder if badger knowledge would transfer to reptiles," Peter said, mock-seriously. He pushed his own too-long hair out of his eyes. "I've heard those sheepdogs are very nice people."

[identity profile] izzyalienqueen.livejournal.com 2006-07-10 02:44 am (UTC)(link)
"That particular sheepdog is stubborn and mostly cranky," Isabel said, chuckling softly at the thought of Michael ever hearing about this conversation. "I suppose the basics might transfer. But then there's the problem of venom."

[identity profile] once-a-king.livejournal.com 2006-07-10 03:00 am (UTC)(link)
"Sheepdogs have to be stubborn or they can't guard their sheep properly," Peter replied, also laughing. "It's the strong protective streak. I'm not much a fan of the venom idea. Maybe we could talk to Dr. Reid about teaching us how to treat snakebite next term."

[identity profile] izzyalienqueen.livejournal.com 2006-07-10 03:07 am (UTC)(link)
"I'd be afraid of what sort of snakes the danger shop would conjure up," Isabel pointed out. "We could spend the entire session wrestling with a twenty foot long anaconda."

[identity profile] once-a-king.livejournal.com 2006-07-10 03:10 am (UTC)(link)
"That could be fun though," Peter said. "Not really associated with 'First Aid' but fun."

[identity profile] izzyalienqueen.livejournal.com 2006-07-10 03:17 am (UTC)(link)
"Oddly enough? It probably would be." Isabel chuckled, "Of course my brain just threw jello into the picture. Which is surely a sign that I had way too much sugar today."

[identity profile] once-a-king.livejournal.com 2006-07-10 03:33 am (UTC)(link)
Peter laughed and threw a marshmellow at her. "At least you didn't picture marshmellow snakes."

[identity profile] izzyalienqueen.livejournal.com 2006-07-10 03:36 am (UTC)(link)
Isabel ducked and grinned. "They'd get gooey once they hit the jello. So it would never work!"

[identity profile] once-a-king.livejournal.com 2006-07-10 03:41 am (UTC)(link)
"Good point," Peter said. "Though I suppose we've just determined how to defeat the future marshmellow snake invasion."

[identity profile] izzyalienqueen.livejournal.com 2006-07-10 03:44 am (UTC)(link)
She tapped her forehead. "I'm taking mental notes. Because around here? It's always a possibility."

[identity profile] once-a-king.livejournal.com 2006-07-10 03:51 am (UTC)(link)
"I'm making note as well. Now hopefully one of us will be around with Jell-O at hand when they attack."
