Flamingo campfire, Monday evening

Ivanova hadn't really unpacked, so moving into the cabin hadn't been much of a stretch. An early night had meant that her body had gotten the sleep it needed to kick back onto Fandom time. Now, she had found an Adirondak chair somewhere, got a little crackling fire going, and kicked back to enjoy. Fresh air, open sky . . .

It was good to be home.

"Uh-huh, earlier today with Setsuna," Alphonse answered. "I figured they'd be a nice treat to pass around, even if they're my first attempt with them."

Joxer took a bite. "You did good work," he said. "You should be proud of yourself."

"Thank you!" Alphonse beamed. "We tried our best with them. I'm really happy everyone seems to like them so much."

"They're brownies," Joxer said. "The closest thing we'll ever have to ambrosia, in my opinion."

"Ambrosia? I've never heard of that."

"The food of the gods," Joxer said. "Eat it and you become one? Seriously, what happened in the last two thousand years that no one knows this?"

"Um," Alphonse blinked. "I'm not from this world, nor am I really familiar with its history yet..."

"I keep forgetting that," Joxer said, snapping his fingers. "Sorry Al."

"It's all right," Alphonse said. "But there's really such a thing? It sounds kinda... farfecthed."

"There was," Joxer said. "Everybody knew about it. They just didn't know where to find it."

"That's pretty incredible," Alphonse mused. "Had anyone found it, ever? I mean, if people know about it, someone's got to have found it, first."

"They did," Joxer said. "How else do you think everyone learned about it?"

"Well, sometimes there are legendary items that people claim exist, but have never been found," Alphonse said. "There's a lot of stuff like that in my world."

"Most things of legend are real, where I come from," Joxer said.

"Really? What kind of things do you have where you're from, other than the ambrosia?"

"Centaurs, gods, magic, bacchites, giants..." Joxer said. "That sort of thing."

"That's pretty impressive," Alphonse replied. "I guess a lot changed between your time and today, since I haven't heard of that sort of thing existing for anyone else."

Joxer nodded. "I guess the stuff of legend and technological stuff doesn't mix so well."
