Alanna sat on the floor, apparently reading a book. Every once in a while Faithful would make a remark and Alanna would make a vague attempt at trying to hit him. She missed every time and was very easily disturbed.

Zack flopped down on a couch, opening a book of his own. "Evening Alanna."

"Hey Zack." Alanna waved. "Meow." Faithful said lazily. "What are you reading?" The girl asked, completely ignoring her cat.

"Gray's Anatomy," Zack replied. "Latest edition."

"Um, so it's a book about a person's insides? That's kind of cool." "You'd think so." "It is!"

"It's pretty much considered the definitive anatomy textbook," Zack replied. "I have a copy back home, but it's an older edition."

"Cool. May I see at some point? I'm a healer and have studied anatomy and physiology in some detail, but all of pictures and stuff are hand drawn scetches. I'm assuming here yours are not?"

"Of course," Zack said. "It's kind of a mix, the first edition was printed over a hundred years ago."

Alanna blinked. "Cool. Do you want to be a..." Alanna fished for the word. "Doctor?"

"Sort of," Zack replied. "I want to be a forensic anthropologist, which is a kind of doctor, just not in the works in a clinic sense."

Aeryn gives Zack a nod, half to see if he "eep"s.

Zack had managed to rid himself of the reflexive eeping Aeryn caused. "Eppening."

Well, almost.

"Good book?" she asks. Not that she cares particularly, but she's not always mean.

"Yes," Zack replied, totally not clucthing the book in a way that might have suggested he was willing to use it to defend himself with. "Newest edition of Gray's Anatomy."

"What's that?" she asks.

"It's a human anatomy textbook, arguably the human anatomy textbook."

Aeryn frowns. "I didn't realize there were books on that," she says. "I should have."

"It's really very good," Zack said.

Aeryn wanders out from her alcove, intentionally just long enough to get some water. "Hi," she greets them both on the way.

"No more Vladdie?" Alanna asked.

"Rory might have him," she says, getting a cup. "I only had to watch him for the weekend."

"Ah. She asked you to pet sit?" "You're dim sometimes." Faithful remarked with a sigh. "Hush you."

Aeryn nods. "It was interesting. Not bad, just interesting."

Alanna nodded. "I'll keep you in mind if I ever need a pet sitter then." Faithful snorted. "I'm stuck to you like glue." "Lucky me."

"I wouldn't mind seeing Faithful pitted against the talking toaster, though," Aeryn says thoughtfully.
