Seahorse living room, Saturday morning

Dean stumbled blurrily to the cabin common room when he woke, making a beeline for the coffee maker kept there. After having his morning influx of caffiene, he grabbed some munchies that were laying around and settled down to surf the web with his mini comp. He'd also brought out his small portable tape deck and was currently listening to Metallica at possibly greater than friendly early Saturday morning volumes.

Sam yawned and made a beeline for the coffee pot. She may have shot the tape deck a dirty look, but figured it was just her being old and decided not to say anything.

Dean waved a hand in Sam's direction, but didn't try to speak over the music. He'd wait for a break between songs so he wasn't yelling at her.

She drank one cup standing next to the coffee pot, then immediately poured herself another cup and set the coffee maker to make another pot. She grabbed the latest copy of Scientific American from her alcove and sat in the living room as far from the tape deck as was humanly possible.

Dean chuckled, the sound lost in his music. "Not a Metallica fan?" he asked as the songs changed.

Or at least that's what he meant to ask; no words actually came out.

Sam hadn't heard him. Although, in the middle of that magazine, she might have ignored him anyway. She turned the page.

Dean frowned, cleared his throat and tried again even as the next song started up.

Nope, still nothing.

Sam rubbed his eyes as he came out of his alcove, and headed straight for the coffee pot, wondering how much mental clarity he would need for detention.

"Sammy!" Dean called out or tried to, still no voice. He jumped up and moved across the room to grab his brother. Not that he was freaked out or anything. Nope, not at all.

Sam turned to face Dean when he grabbed him, frowning at the look on his brother's face. "Dean? What's wrong?" he said, his expression shifting to match Dean's when no sound came out.

"You too?" Dean said -- or mouthed at least. Not sure if he was more alarmed or relieved that it wasn't just him.

Sam opened his mouth and tried to yell, nodding to Dean when there was no noise. "Yeah. Are you okay?"

Jack had headed back to the cabins, wondering if the latest Fandom weirdness had only hit the dorms.

He knocked on the wall inside the living room door and waved, waiting to see if anyone said, "Hi." Or anything else for that matter.

"Jack!" Sam called, or would have, if anyone could have heard her. She grimaced.

And that answered his question. It wasn't just the dorms.

He sat next to Sam and looked at her questioningly, hands spread wide.

She shrugged and shook her head.

He nodded and lifted one shoulder in a half shrug, then grinned. Touching her shoulder, then her hand, he cocked an eyebrow and mouthed, "You OK?"

Dean waved a hand in Jack's direction, not even bothering with the nonexistent voice attempt.

Jack nodded and then shrugged and tipped his head sideways in a 'What can you do?' motion.

Dean shrugged in response, then nodded toward the coffee maker. They may be voiceless but not caffineless.

Jack flashed him a look of gratitude and headed over to grab a cup. There was almost nothing caffeine couldn't make better - if anything could cure his voicelessness, it'd be coffee.

He was disappointed when, after taking a sip, his sigh of caffeinated-happiness came out as nothing but gape-mouthed soundlessness.

Jaye's phone had been going off. It had been answered. It is now in her hand, still open with Mahandra saying "Hello?", while Jaye stands in the living room and flails at it.

Dean caught sight of her and approached, making "calm down" gestures at her.

Jaye points at him, making a face as if to say Have we moved on from the glue?

Dean looked first shocked, then offended, then kinda sneakily flattered. He spread his hands and did his best to look innocent as he shook his head.

Jaye just nods a lot, and points like "uh huh!" It hasn't occurred to her that he's not talking, either.
