Stickbug Campfire: Afternoon

After his afternoon workshop Jamie settled down at the campfire ring with his encyclopedia and a cooler filled with cold drinks.

Any one who might pass by and say hello would no doubt be offered a lovely beverage.

Sakurazaki is enjoying the nice day and the buzz of a very awesome victory by taking a drifting walk around the camp area. She gives a little wave to the small gathering as she nears the Stickbug campfire.

Jamie waved back and then motioned to the cooler. "Hey... it's Setusuna, right? Would you like a beverage?"

Sakurazaki nods, with a bright smile. "Setsuna, right," she says, and, one eye sliding shut while the other looks him over as she tries to remember, she adds, slowly, "And you're....umm...ack, I'm sorry. Names aren't much of a strong point for me. Refresh my memory?"

"Jamie Madrox. No worries, it's been a while. How've you been?"

"Very well, thank you. And yourself?"

Sakurazaki's eyes catch briefly on the encyclopedia. "Have you been doing some research?"

"I'm attempting to read the entire encyclopedia from A to Z," Jamie explained. "It's a vain attempt for me to learn everything."

Sakurazaki's head tilts slightly. A noble endevour, to be sure, but not a particularly brilliant one. "Hopefully not all in one sitting? I've tried to do that with the English dictionary before, but I think I only ended up confusing myself pretty badly."

"Not in one sitting, no," Jamie said shaking his head. "My head would probably explode. I've got it checked out for a couple of weeks."

"How far along are you?"

"Only the B volume. Only 24 letters to go."

She chuckles lightly. "Only. But even one whole volume cleared is still impressive. Any particularly notable entries? And why such an extensive quest to satiate the thirst for knowledge?"

Jamie shrugged. "It's hard to explain... You know I can duplicate myself right? Well... it's like if I can be anywhere and do anything I really want to do? Why not do everything and learn everything. Does that make sense?"

"Oh and just so you know? An Abalone has five anal passages."

Sakurazaki actually wasn't directly aware of the fact that he could, but it didn't phase her at all. Kotaro-kun and Kaede-san could, too. She nods. "It does make sense, yes. Best to get the most out of your abilities, sure."

"What does it need with so many?" she can't help but ask. "And was that in the entry about the Abalone or the entry on anal passages?" There's a slight grin for the last part.

She realized that she doesn't even think she knows what an Abalone is.

"That was the Abalone entry," Jamie said with a chuckle. "I have no idea why it needs that many. Apparently it just needs that many."

"Such fascinating and useful knowledge," Sakurazaki teases lightly, finally reaching into the cooler to retrieve a drink.

"Well you never know when a cocktail party conversation will turn to the topic of shellfish," Jamie said wisely.

"Very true," Sakurazaki nods. "And evil villians usually do tend to always have some strange fetishes and obsessions, so it just might end up saving your life one day. And mine, as well, now that I have been bestowed with this very important knowledge." She grins, takes a sip of her drink.
