The Pool, after workshops, late afternoon

Parker was setting up the pool for the photographic assignment with Blair. This involved stringing Japanese lanterns, breaking out glow sticks, and a few flashlights, as well as the pool lights. And yes, there's a couple small palm trees, picked up ~~handwavily~~ from All & Sundries.

She might have been having too much fun with the lighting.

"If you weren't made of non-biodegradeable plastic I would just dump you in the garbage." A kayak walked into the pool area. Or a Blair walked into the pool area with a kayak on his head, his words echoing. "You are way too heavy and you smell funny and I think you were made crooked. Your mother was probably a porta-john from the bad part of town."

Parker started chuckling the second Blair walked in, then outright chortled. "Careful! Don't walked into the lanterns. Need any help with Stinky there?"

"Lanterns?" Blair and the kayak turned to face Parker and with a grunt, he tipped over until the kayak bounced onto the tile surrounding the pool. "Whew. I must have ran into every wall and door between here and town."

Blair gazed around the pool area with admiration. "This looks nice, Parker. Lots of ambiance."

"Thanks. It occurred to me that the pool lighting might not be enough to show the person in the kayak, as well as the tree. I thought some backlighting might work pretty well." She shook up and then broke a blue glowstick and handed it to him. "Second contingency plan, here you go." Parker tapped the kayak with her fingernails. "Where did you get the illegitimate offspring of a PortaJohn and a life raft?"

"You mean the tree in the kayak, right?" Blair kicked the item and then spent a moment hopping around and rubbing his toe. "I'm certainly not going to get in this death trap."

"As for how Stinky got here...lets just not talk about it right now." Blair took the glowstick and tossed it into the water. "That's actually a nice effect."

"Well, if we want joy, we need a person," Parker pointed out. "C'mooooon. We need you in the picture. You're much more joyful than I am. Maybe swimming in front of it?" She grinned at the glowstick, and shook up another, dropping it in the water. "I like the corona effect." She took a quick photo for reference, then swung her camera around and got a shot of Blair rubbing his toe. "Unless we set up the cameras on timers, and were both in the water."

"How about we put the tree in the kayak and the kayak in the water and hope Veronica forgets about the joy part?" Blair grinned at Parker and started pushing the kayak in, leaning over the pool to do it.

"So, just a tree in water, sailing across a pool?" Parker shook her head, then leaned over to help Blair. "Hmmm. Maybe we can make it look like something symbolic?" With a splash, the kayak was in the water.

Parker shed her swimming wrap and dived in the pool. She surfaced after a few seconds, steering the kayak by hand over to the edge. "Right. One of us needs to be in here to keep it from tipping over anyway. We don't want to drown the Palmers."

Blair rolled his eyes and shrugged off his shoes and shirt, jumping in the pool after Parker. "Okay, we'll get the Palmers set up inside Stinky, arrange something artful and symbolic and then take the picture."

Blair splashed a glow stick in Parker's direction. "Maybe it represents the journey we take through life. Wavering and unsteady, illuminated intermitenly with wisdom and...carried by a kayak."

"Okay, the last part needs help."

"We need a waterfall to *really* make it work," Parker agreed. She grinned and tossed a couple more glowsticks in the pool. "Right. Maybe we can make Stinky look like a miniature island, with the Palmers on top? And look like we're giants attacking it?" She reached for Palmer #1 and asked, "How was your workshop today, anyway?"

[ooc: back in a few hours!]

"How do attacking giants signify joy?" Blair asked as began balancing a palm tree on the kayak. "It was lousy. Bel wasn't there but he called his minions to make me blush. Plus, I got this thing that I have to use sometime this week."

"Joy in destruction? I don't know, I'm not a giant." Parker held the kayak steady, and smothered a grin. "Bel's only mostly reformed. Thing? Becky's giving homework with... things?"

"What do you think?" Blair leaned back and looked at the the palm tree in the middle of the kayak. "Bel's totally reformed. This isn't him being evil...it's him cheating on our bet. Yes, Becky is giving homework with things."

"Mine's called a rabbit."

"It looks lonely." Parker reached over and grabbed the other Palmer, and snugged it next to the other. "There. Very tropical."

She did a double-take at Blair's thing, lost her balance and went under the water for a second. She surfaced, coughing. "Oh my god."

"You okay?" Blair swam over to her and placed a hand on her shoulder. "It's horrible, isn't it?"

Parker got her breath back, and hung onto the edge of the pool, fighting back giggles. "Well, that's not what I'd call it. I just, uh. Don't see you... never mind. Not important."

Blair decided that he needed to check out the water on the other side of the pool.

Quickly.

Parker was still very quietly giggling as she swam over to get her camera. "Hit the floods, will you?" She coughed a little. "I promise not to laugh any more. Really. And... you could always use the rabbit as a normal massager, I guess."

She took a quick exposure of the palm trees in the pool, with the lights from the floods and the glow sticks illuminating it, then swam closer to the kayak.

Blair climbed out to get the lights and then grabbed his camera before sitting on the edge and taking pictures of both the kayaking trees and Parker. He put his camera down and swam up slowly behind Parker until he was close enough to dunk her.

Not that he would ever do such a thing.

*splash* Apparently he would splash her though.

"HEY!" Parker screeched, then spun and hit the button on her camera, setting of the flash on high in Blair's face. Chortling, she tried to dunk *him* under, while holding her camera out of the water. "Sandberg! No fair! Talk about cheating!"

Blair let himself get dunked and while he was underwater grabbed hold of Parker to pull her under as well.

Parker *just* managed to hook the camera on the kayak before she was pulled under, then sank, turned, swam around and burst out of the water behind Blair. "HA!" She grabbed his camera and held it high. "Now who's laughing, Bouncing Boy?"

"Me!" Blair swam right for Parker, grabbing and tossing the camera towards the edge before tackling her. "It's bouncing man, Parker."

"Ack!" Parker went under, giggling and swallowing water, but scissor-kicked out of Blair's grasp after a few seconds. The kayak bobbed threateningly as their horseplay kicked up waves, and Parker dived under it, surfaced on the other side, and spluttered as she surfaced, clinging to the far side of the craft. "Sandberrrrg.... Don't make me destroy the island...."

Blair swam up to the other side of the kayak and grinned, reaching out to rock the boat. "You would kill the Palmers just to get me? Sweet Betty Lou and her man-friend Jimmy?"

"Youuuu betcha." Parker started laughing again. "Betty Lou? Jimmy, maybe, but *Betty Lou*?" She pushed the kayak toward Blair, then dived under to attack him unseen. Splish!

Blair hurriedly steadied the kayak and it's riders before getting tickled in the stomach. He dove underwater to grab at Parker's feet.

Parker got yanked under, flailed, splashing wildly, then pushed off the pool floor with her hands, upward. "Ha HA!" She coughed, then circled Blair, grinning evilly. "Ohhh, Sandberg. You are gonna *regret* that."

Another diiive, and Parker surfaced after several seconds under water with Blair in a headlock. "Yes!"

"Hey!" Blair sputtered as he tried to break free and grabbed any part of Parker that was near him.

"HEY!" Okay, that was contact that was definitely *not* supposed to happen. Parker's immediate reaction was to hold Blair's head under water. A lot.

Blair was sort of grateful for the holding under water since it helped calm the blush that was raging across his face. Eventually he kicked backwards and came up on the other side of the kayak from Parker.

"I'm *cough* sorry *sputter* about that."

Parker adjusted a swimsuit strap irritably. "I should freaking hope so." She glowered at him. "Right. Photos. And no more horseplay. In the absence of a lifeguard, I think we'll save your life by being more careful. Hmmm?"

"Fine, fine, fine." Blair grumbled and rolled his eyes. "It wasn't like I enjoyed it or anything."

Parker gave him a deadly look. "I beg your pardon?"

Blair blushed and shook his head, water flying from his curls. "Not that...I mean..Uh...Parker I think your...um...bits are very enjoyable.."

Parker gave him another look.

"Right.... we will never speak of this again. Will we?" She didn't wait for an answer, just dove under the kayak and retrieved her camera.

"Smile, Sandberg."

*flash*

Blair nodded. "No telling anyone. Ever."

Parker's mouth twitched. "Good." It was *almost* funny. Almost.

"C'mon. Let's make Betty Lou and Jimmy stars."

"Don't forget about Stinky." Blair nodded and swam to the side of the pool to grab his camera, snapping pictures the whole way.

tim, towel slung over one shoulder, entered the pool area.
