It's Monday morning.

Everybody is back in the dorms.

You realize...

This calls for pancakes.

Lots, and lots, of pancakes.

Maybe a few eggs and a rasher of bacon five yards long. (Okay... Maybe no that much bacon.

There's definitely coffee.

"You are too kind Sir Peter." she says loading up a plate for him. "
And flattery will get you nearly everywhere."

Peter grinned and accepted the plate. "It would only be flattery if it weren't not true, of course. As it is, I am just stating the truth."

"Who am I to argue with that?" she asks, making sure he has as much as he wants. "How was Saturday for you?"

"Thank you very much," Peter said. "You really are lovely for cooking breakfast." He managed to avoid facepalming but sighed at the Saturday question. "It was horrible. I still need to apologise to too many people. How about you?"

"It was very... Educational. I suppose I should talk to Tyler because that Jan girl called him a creep and threatened him with her boyfriend... Ultimately, I'm just glad she and Putzie didn't try anything but hopping around like shmucks dance together. I guess I'm a little jealous too."

"Educational to be sure," Peter agreed. "I didn't know it was possible for someone to be as much of an idiot as Doody. And yet, he thought he was the coolest thing ever." He did, in fact, facepalm this time. "And he kissed Frenchy." He looked up at her. "Why are you jealous? Of those who got to point and laugh?"

"Oh, well, it was just a kiss right? You can straiten that out without very much trouble, huh? It wasn't you doing it, you can't beat yourself up over such things." she said, speaking from experience.

"No, I'm jealous because she got to come onto Pip before I did myself... I think my strength went away while I thought I was her. Maybe it didn't, and whatever part of me looks out for that was still in play, I dunno. But, I think it'd kinda be nice to have a day where I didn't always have to be so careful."

"I hope so. I just - don't particularly want to screw up. And especially not over something like that," Peter said. "But if it wasn't you...Ahh, that makes sense then. So you have no control over it? You're just that strong and have to hold things like eggshells?"

"Well, if by 'control' you mean turn it on and off? No, I can't. It's always 'on'. But by now, I can control it in the sense that I don't crunch anything without meaning to. And I rarely mean to."

"Yes, that's what I meant," Peter said with a nod. "I'd not insult you by implying the other in the face of massive evidence for your ability to prevent a crunch."

"Thanks." she said smiling at him. "But yeah. Thinking back, she was completely unconcerned... I wouldn't change for the world but... Must be nice."

Peter nodded, smiling back. "I can't imagine beyond thinking that it must be like dealing with babies at all times. So yes, I can see where it would be nice - different at least - to not worry."

Pippi smiled at him and nodded. Babies were actually more harty then he's giving them credit for but that was fine.

"It was strange. I don't remember there being a shred of me during the day. If it wasn't so much fun on some level, I'd be rather more disconcerted."

However Peter was a boy and so handled babies like spun glass. And as rarely as possible.

"It was rather fun if one forgets the utter embarassment and disturbing part of it."

Pippi laughed. "The same can be said for a lot of things!"

Peter laughed as well. "So very, very true. But more so than usual in this case."

"It's kind of interesting." Pippi said. "We all thought we were other people and in the end they all resorted to being something other then they really were in order to be with each other."

"It's very philosophical when you look at it that way," Peter said with a grin. "I think Doody would have done just about anything to be like Danny or Kenicki."

"I suppose they were a couple of righteous dudes."

"Cool cats was the term used, I believe," Peter replied. "Or didn't Jan want to be just like Rizzo?"

"I dunno... I think she wanted to be more like Marty. She certainly cared what Rizzo thought though. More so then she probably should have. She considered herself the least cool of the girls. It was kinda sad."

"That is, rather," Peter said. "Maybe it was the beaver impression. Really, I don't think any of them were all that ... I mean, they were supposed to be just 'normal' kids, but none of them were even close to knowing who they were or what they thought they were doing. They were mainly idiots."

"They weren't idiots, just ignorant... Okay, maybe just a little bit."

"Well, the T-Birds at least, and Doody in particular, were idiots."
