As happy as Seras was that Pippi had been kind enough to buy her a cell phone as a pre-birthday/Christmas present, she'd be a lot happier if she could figure out why Edgar, her errant cellular, did half of the stuff he it did.

Things like waking her up at 5:30 in the morning by playing 'Rock the Casbar'. After she'd spent a late night at Caritas hanging out with Nadia.

Still, the early rising had given her a chance to handwavily run into town and pick up croissants and danishes for anyone who cared to join her. So, maybe Edgar knew what he was doing, after all.

Seras had them set up on the table along with some fresh fruit and was now curled up on the couch with a newspaper. This, however, she hadn't bought in town. She'd found it outside her room's door.

Before coming to Fandom, Seras had taken out a subscription to the London Times, and it seems that it had finally caught up with her. Reading 1993's news in 2006 might seem odd to some, but Seras had completely missed the ten or so years in between, and at the moment she was absorbed with news from home.

Where there is food, there is Walter. Particularly if where there is food, there are also fewer memories for someone who's working not to mope and not necessarily doing the world's best job of it.

Walter wandered in that morning before class and spied the food. "Do you know if this is for some sort of meeting, or can any of us have some?"

"Wally!" Jamie exclaimed with a jaunty wave. "How goes it?!"

Walter just adored being called Wally. Oh yes. He smiled tightly and waved back.

"Nadia's at the Arms."

Seras looked up from her newspaper and smiled.

"It's for everyone. Help yourself."

"Thank you. Breakfast is popular this week. Maybe I'll do something tomorrow."

"I think it's for a meeting of people who want food."

"Then I have met the right people, haven't I?" Walter waved a croissant at her in greeting, which in the Internation Language of Pastry means, "Hiya, how's it going, great to see you."

Jamie was wandering, as you do, and happily found free food.

"There's a reason why going to school here is so great. People are always willing to feed you," Jamie said piling a croissant and cheese danish on his plate. "Thanks... Seras? Right?"

Seras nodded.

"My pleasure, really...um..." she trailed off, feeling a bit embarrassed that this person knew her name and she couldn't call up his.

Bugger...

"Jamie Madrox," he said helpfully and in a non-offended tone as he flopped down on the couch and then motioned to the newspaper. "What's going on in the world today?"

"Doing pretty well," Jamie said. "Seems like a great day for free food. How've you been? I see you're not snapping any chewing gum anymore."

Pippi flounced down the stairs and noticed breakfast!

Seras waved from behind her newspaper.

Pip walked in, dressed in the French Maid's uniform he had been given by Becky.

Pip does not know the Heimlich Maneuver. Nor does he know the Heimlich Gesture. He does know smacking people really hard on the back, so he does that.

"I think the windows need cleaning."

Sakurazaki had been trying to piece together exactly why she was witnessing this, pondering carefully for a bit. Seems to be acting enough like Pip, so she rules out the grand phenomenom of switching personalities.

"So," one of her eyes slides shut as she reaches a guess, "what sort of bet did you lose?"

After her morning meditation, Sakurazaki idly follows the sounds of a common room gathering down the hall and drifts in. " 'Morning, everyone."

She really did need to start breathing again, and soon...
