Fifth Floor Common Room: Morning into Afternoon

Jamie has coffee brewed, donuts and pastries from J'GOB on the counter for anyone who is interested.

Jamie however is glued to his beat up laptop and is typing like a crazy person. The fact that he has a book on screenwriting next to him should be a warning to anyone who enters.

"Oh. What's wrong with that?"

Cally shook her head. "Nothing at all. I was just warning you."

"Ah. Okay. My story has some of that in it, too. So I don't think it would have surprised me."

Cally nodded. "Just seems to happen, when you're writing, doesn't it?"

"Mmhm. Especially when you start writing it because you miss people."

"Wow, you missed people that fast?" Cally asked. "Well, guess it's not that strange, since I missed you that fast, too."

Nadia bit her lip. "Actually. I should tell you something. I was gone for more than five days."

"You were?" Cally said, biting her lip, suddenly. "How long were you gone?"

"A year," Nadia answered quietly.

Cally's eyes bugged. Then she went to give Nadia a big hug.

Nadia tensed for a moment, then relaxed and hugged back.

"Gah. You must've wondered why no one ever wrote," Cally said, still hugging Nadia.

"I couldn't contact anyone. I had no idea what might have happened."

Cally let go and pulled back from Nadia. "I'm so sorry," she said.

"Why? It's not your fault."

"Just sorry it seemed like I'd -- we'd all abandoned you," Cally said. "I was supposed to be writing and stuff."

Nadia shook her head. "I understand it, now. And when I tried to contact you guys, everything would just get bounced back at me. I was worried, but it's okay now."

Cally nodded. "You must have a lot of stories, bein' gone so long."

"This one is almost 90 pages, now. I wasn't working on it the whole time, though."

"Well, I kinda meant about what you did and stuff," Cally said.

"Oh. It was really just a lot of training."

"Okay," Cally said, not wanting to press the matter. "Musta been a whole lot of it, yeah."

"Yep."

Cally just nodded. "I guess I'll just leave you to your writing? Unless you want to keep me around to be your living thesaurus."

"Either way. I seem to have agreed to go shopping with Pippi eventually, anyway."
